You could compare how much gold you own. (Way more fun thatn arguing)

How much gold I have isn’t relevant at all to how much the average is.

Flipping is the most gold imo. Flipping materials especially, but you need to think and not to panic if the price goes down, it is similar to stocks
In general, materials were always good gold, as well as consumables. Crafting is too much of a hassle for little of gold, only in the beginning you could make lots with profession tools selling to people who make millions with them.
No one will tell you exactly what to do, and I would never tell on forum to everyone, just think and be creative, use your head

My personal impression is that when players have in the hundreds of millions, they probably farmed AH (without really doing anything else), or spent all their time crafting and selling, or they bought lots of tokens…or maybe all 3.
If you check the AH atm you can see how inexpensive most crafting items are in Q1 and Q2. Apart from selected items the money is in quality 3+. Smells like some players invested huge amounts of gold in leveling up crafting very fast so they now can get gold from the high quality items while many struggle to get an income from selling lower quality items because of dirtcheap lowquality prices set by a pool of crafters.
Either way I don’t think most can earn 100mil+ without a big time investment, unless the gold is from tokens.
From various responses on the forums, which isn’t really always a representative for the game, but still many are in the midfield with 300-4000k gold.
I would be happy to have 10 mil gold, and you also write that you’re still earning more, so it’s pretty solid.

I love this comparison… making gold is fun most of the time, goblins love gold making. It is not a chore
I leveled multiple characters the intended way (via questing and occasional dungeon runs).
You end up with approximately 10k gold. Then you buy enchants, gems, do more quests, PvP, dungeons, and hover around that amount.
If you do progression raiding, you go broke.
I you farm or try professions, you go above.
The baseline however is around 5-25k, imo.

Edit add: Topic relevant - 10mil is WAYYYY more than majority have. People run around with 100-300k, possibly, as a norm. So you probably already know how to make gold when you are sitting on that much!
I wish dragon races still gave a solid amount.
You find a niche, I guess.
Buy low, sell high, farm this, farm that.
I’m personally not on the crafting bandwagon, cause I just do not enjoy the newer crafting systems.

I second this. It’s only a small percentage that actually have gold in any quantity. The rest of us are just wow poor.

Becomeing a WoW millionaire requires WoW millionaires to buy your crap and a massive amount of time, meaning several months.
Majority won’t bulk buy your stuff.
Mats, yes, but in a low enough amount to not net you millions “fast”.
That’s not how economics work, neithter in WoW nor in RL nor elsewhere.
You literally can make millions buying when the price is low and selling when its high, millions. That is how wow economics work, same in classic. You can do that with stock irl too. There are prices change even in the time of the day you buy/sell, let alone week
You do realize you need a siginificant amount of money beforehand to buy an enough amount to become millionaire?

The Dino mount is only an indication that someone farmed or bought tokens. I have a long boi but only 300k total gold.
