whatever you say old man Jenkins, it doesn’t make you any less incomprehensible.
Anyway, are you ready to admit that the long lives of elf only manage to give them enough combat potential to (struggle to) compete with the shorter lived races, as the lore clearly shows? Or are you gonna continue pretending we’re in LOTR and not WoW
I was more on about the fact that you can -only- shoot at such ranges… I mean Gods, I can loose an arrow at considerably longer ranges, with only a 30lb bow.
Or a Roleplayers. You should try it some time.
Yes! That’s exactly the point. You ask, don’t bark. That is doing it right.
I hate that, unfortunately, I have also seen that far too much.
Uggh, Again! You have the troops you have in the field, that is how it works, You can have NPC support staff back home, that makes actual sense, but you can’t pretend they are taking part in actual combat!
I like clever use of magic, I don’t like it as a “Fixed It!” Button. I like the more innovative uses of it, not just a hammer going “I fixed it!”
This is very reminiscent of a LARP meme. “Don’t play a Mighty Warrior, play a Warrior and -be- Mighty”. If someone says they have bamboozled my character, that only works if they have bamboozled my character, I don’t care how much like Palpatine they think they are, or whether they have read Machiavelli, If I’m not tricked, I’m not tricked, simple as.
I would almost offer to pay you to go to the Valley of Honour and Cathedral Square, and shout that every night…
Are you…wait, I’m supposed to be the old one here, you’re not having a senior moment, are you? You found my last post Incomprehensible? Oh blimey, I just read the rest of your post…you really did. Find a responsible …well, actually a child would be able to navigate that post, Just find someone with basic comprehension skills. The words I used were all understandable, and you have clearly missed the bit where I said it was not LoTR, which you then thought was me saying “it is LoTR” I believe the phrase is…“Swing and a Miss”. Better luck next time Old Boy…
Oh, that is just a game mechanic. We know from books and the like that WoW characters can shoot impressive ranges. The 40yd thing is just so that you do not get killed by someone your game has not even loaded in.
Brigante. Let’s go to the Lilynore’s wedding thread. You make better posts there, more appreciation and… Better overall.
Also I’m writing honor verification for others there, and you can get one if you want.
Also, really enjoyed reading this thread, at least parts of it. Awesome points has been made, useful to me aswell.
Especially how a powerful Character may not take -any- fight… Something to think about, sounds interesting.
I’m bad at PvP, and priests are pretty much undefeatable no matter how hard I try.
My character would try to oneshot her opponent with a stab or disengage from any prolonged fight. Difficult to portray in PvP.
Northrend is indeed a Continent, what has…that to do with anything being discussed here?
I wouldn’t know.
Yes, I thank you for repeating the point that I had already made. No one is saying Elves are like Tolkein Elves, apart from you. I specifically -stated- that they were not. In fact I have on many threads stated that Elves in Wow’s setting are not the same as the cuddly version Legolas portrays. Brigante certainly is not Legolas, he is far more jaded, prone to cruelty, and less naïve. I have no idea as to how this applies to Tehya, as lets face it, it is an alt face you hide behind. Your actual character though, They’re a piece of work, and I mean that in a complimentary sense.
So stop with this silly “You’re not Legolas” rubbish. No one said he was, least of all myself.
So Why in a Duel would I calmly walk up to someone so that they could hit me, before loosing an arrow? In what possible world does that make sense? I’m not going to do that! If I want to kill them I will loose my arrow from cover, before they even see me, I mean that is -how it works- People who think PvP /Duels are the way to resolve things are wrong. Simple as. Lore says so, the Game says so, the Novels say so, heck, even our own world reality says so. I’m not going to march in front of someone, plant a flag saying “Lets fight!” Then step back a few paces, count to three, then lose every possible advantage I had. Sorry? Is this children playing Tig? Lets not forget, I can’t even do this in a city. Because Bowstrings suddenly do not work in cities. Yeah…
Duels are a pathetic way of trying to resolve IC combat, as they do not allow you to utilise skills that your character would realistically possess. Does your Mighty Warrior forget how to use their abilities in a city?
Yeeeaaah, that’s…realistic…
Roleplay is not for you. Nor is selective memory. I wasn’t there when you did the chicken thing of ‘burning an enemy’ but not liking when people describe it. Because all the cool kids like to commit atrocities, but when they re described they get a bit squeamish. So no, you are entirely incorrect, the last time you roleplayed around me was when there were suddenly three raid marker NPC Prisoners of War, begging for their lives, unarmed and incapable of harm. Everyone jumped on the atrocity train, apart from us. Who went “no, that’s…not actually how it works” Basically a segment of the Horde player base had just lost us the War. So we reacted badly. Why the heck bring forces to fight a war that you are then going to sabotage? We were -winning-! So Formally removed ourselves from the General’s Command.
I think I’m seeing the problem here. You wanted to commit the atrocity, but you didn’t like it when you were called out on it and what it would look like?
That is called Cowardice. Do the thing or do not Do the thing. Do not do the thing then whine when people say the thing was nasty, and how nasty it looks. That is abject cowardice.
I remain fairly assured that Roleplay…probably isn’t for you…
Gonna need a link there, thou constant, and predictable champion. You seem to have been stalking me for years now, as we have seen, so what creepy stuff have you in store this time?
That’s not my fault. I think we all know who Tehya is by this point, so…don’t you think claiming they cannot understand English is a little disingenuous? I mean, it would make their job harder, for a start.
Are you alright? What lads? No seriously, did they put some weird screws in your head during your National Service, as you have proper went 180 on your personality.
In fact no. -Are You alright?- What lads? What are you talking about?
I’m just curious, Brigante or those against Brigante, did the other party divorce you and run off with kids and house and money or something?
This back and forth whenever you lot are in the same thread looks like some ex couple fighting.
Even more since I know some of you were ex members or ex-officers in the Sun Hawks.
Just… what did you do to eachother to hate eachother this much?
Don’t you know a person’s true face is revealed by how they treat their “enemies”?
Also, unrelated but slightly related. WHO IS TEHYA? Brigante seems to know…
No one is denying that which my roleplaying character did is bad.
What you did was bad too, writing excessive fetish gore on the forums (which breaches the terms of service!) See the difference? My character (not me!) did something bad vs you (not your character) doing something bad
I wouldn’t call it cowardice. Cowardice is wanting your character to do heroic things like flying into an enemy base to negotiate, but then ignore any attempts made against him because you do not want your character to get harmed.
I remain fairly assured that forum posting under influence… probably isn’t for you…
Hey, it’s not me you should be arguing with. I feel that duels are very poor at representing Chieun’s patient, defensive, counter-attacker fighting style, so I personally avoid them. If others want to duel each other that is fine.
For me, it’s only recently that I felt compelled to speak out against him, and it was a few months back when he made a post that, though it didn’t name names, was clearly about me & recognised as such by people that were in sun hawks or knew me at the time.
He showed his view of multiple conversations we’d had when I was officer in SH. Forgetting that at the time he had not once told me he didn’t want to do what I asked.
Funnily enough, he made this comment after he’d fallen out with and started bashing PCU people, which I had already become a member of.
