How to prevent faction imbalance

Easy: when a faction reaches 60% of server population, disable character creation for that faction until the balance returns to 50-50.

I tried to suggest that but i realized it’s bad idea it would only make ppl angry who really wanted to play Horde.

They can come back a few days later if they really want to join that server. Or maybe if you’re Blizzard friends you could invite 1 person per week or something with the recruit-a-friend system. But people who just join blindly, or want to create alts should be locked.

simply make that both sides get same amount gear … but not per person but per faction … so if 1 faction is 2 times bigger will get 2 times less drop … so that will me balance for sure

I believe people respond better to positive motivation rather than NO you can’t do this. It’d add up to the list of frustrations and anti-fun memes WoW faces.

Does it even matter anymore with cross faction? I know I’m never getting balanced pvp realms back, that sort of wpvp is just a nice memory now.

What I would appreciate would be not being mocked for picking any other race than Orc for pvp. That’s another discussion though.

Now they just need a time machine to go back 10 years to implement it.

Best thing they can do is make faction aesthetic and questing and races the only thing seperating factions.

Guild, dungeon finder should be cross faction as well.
It is the only solution.

Everyone tells people to go horde, i myself went there. Simply because most of the player base is there. It’s the snowball effect.

If they insist on keeping LFR and LFD, then they should be cross faction - faster queues all round.

It’s a good way to piss off people, especially those who play for the first time.

Giving a tangible reward to the less populated faction would be a good solution.

Currently, afaik the underdogs get an exp buff which doesn’t matter and shorter queues in battlegrounds.

FIRST - impostor mode should be removed from pvp queues. The Horde should not be allowed to queue as the Alliance. Period.

Then - leveling should be made about twice as slow as it normally is, so it takes at least doing a full expansion’s campaign to get to max level. Then the exp buff of the underdog faction needs to be doubled.

There should absolutely be endgame benefits for the underdogs, however it’s hard to evaluate what those should be. A good start would be a 50% increase in valor obtained at the end of an M+ dungeon.

I can’t see the reason behind it.What does it matter if It is Horde 99%?

Yes, because thats exactly what ppl would do. “Cannot make a horde character here…damn…ok im gonna make an aliance…”

Locking horde char creation wouldn change anything on aliance side.

Im afraid you cant charge someone for a service then restrict the service after payment

You cant sort the faction imbalance, 4 friends come over, choose one faction, and rhen refuse 2 of them

You just gonna turn away new players.

The solution to faction imbalance, is dissolving the factions.

Y’all are being reactionary instead of addressing the issue. Grow up in your arguments.

In an MMO like this, you cannot dictate to people what they should and shouldn’t play. Player choice is what you need - if you don’t have that, then it’s failure. The gaming company has failed.

You might as well end the game now.

It’s too late now. It doesn’t matter. Factions are dead. It makes me incredibly sad, but that’s where we are. RIP.

If i couldnt play what i want at begining i wouldnt play at all most likely . This will just make new people to insta quit.

Also whats wrong with alts ?? Number of players stays the same . What does it matter there is created 300 times more chars on one faction if u cant play them at same time ?

U know how people cry nobody reads those forums and they dont listen to people? Sometimes im realy glad for that.

no its a game and if i wanna create a horde or an alliance i need to be free. And as ishayo said… factions are dead.
So… there is no meaning for this limit. now.

Or Alliance.

Both factions like to gather on their faction biased realm.

The issue is that every single realm is biased towards a faction or another. As many pointed out, they’re mostly dead and it’s likely the game will be completely cross faction during DF. Let’s be honest for a second here… Factions are an outdated mechanic that served no gameplay purposes and they were only bringing cons. It’s a good riddance.
