Hello!
I’m sort of back (temporarily) from middle of Shadowlands, but I cant get the great idea of this new ilvl ranges and how to cope:
normal dungeon gives ilvl 554
BUT heroic dungeon entry min is 567
timewalking entry is similar to normal dungeon, and it gives ilvl 567 - enough to enter heroics and LFR, but hard as heroic
heroics give ilvl 580
So the question is, if I spam normal dungeons as we always did, max ilvl I will get is 554 - NOT enough to start doing heroics and LFR.
How do I get enough ilvl past normal dungeons?
Thanks in advance.
PS. Yes I watched some videos of Kenali and Hazel and such, but those explaine not much. I want simple clear system like before: normal > heroic > lfr > normal raid, but cannot do it seems.
Currently the best way is to go to Siren’s Isle (don’t worry, it will scale with your gear) and do all the quests there. It won’t take too long. You should have enough of the currency there to simply buy yourself a full set of 584 ilvl gear.
I don’t really bother beyond that and just upgrade it, so I’ll leave others to chime in on that.
Okay, if Siren Island gear relatively easy to obtaine and is ilvl 593 and only requirement is level 80, then what is the point of existence of heroic dungeons with ilvl 580 and requirement of ilvl 567 just to queue?
The gear treadmill goes pretty fast in WoW these days. Although gearing outside of M+ tends to be quite slow to acquire and upgrade. By the time you’ve geared up as well you can then a new patch will land and you basically start all over again.
Wait around a few months and 11.1.5 will have WQs that give 625 or something. Then 11.2 will be giving out 650s or something.
