How to properly learn rotation? I became addicted to Hekili

for some reason the forums don’t allow me to switch characters

Hi, this is an unusual request - I am now switching mains to my Arms warrior but I found myself extremely dependant on the Hekili rotation helper. I want to ‘break away’ from it and learn to do the rotation myself and I’ve got a few questions:
Are WA’s recommended? Do you use them yourselves?
What is the best way to learn rotation on my own?
Are there any specific cooldowns or procs other than OP procs that I should be tracking?

Hi,

Arms warrior is actually easy to play since it’s not a rotation but rather a priority system.

Assuming you’re using the following talent build :

  • Level 15: sudden death
  • Level 25: Double Time
  • Level 30: Rend
  • Level 35: whatever
  • Level 40: Warbreaker
  • Level 45: Avatar
  • Level 50: Dreadnaught

And enduring blow legendary.

So the only prov you should be tracking is sudden death since wasting a proc is a huge DPS loss.

So the rules are simple :

Maintain rend, refresh it once there are 4s or less left.
Always cast mortal strike on cooldown.
Use your sudden death proc. You have 10s to consume it so you have plenty of time.

The number one rule is always to make sure you’re banking 30 rage. I know aboot the always be casting rule, but you’d rather have 30 rage to spent on either rend or mortal strike rather than not being to cast those spells.

So that also implies on not overspending rage on slam. I know it’s tempting to spend 20 rage on a slam but it’s better not to cast slam to then being able to use higher priority spells.

The WA I’m using are :

I like using TellMeWhen addon . So that’s another option.
