How to put it politely ? Do you not have Checklists?

Well I’ll try to put it as politely as I can anyway.

I know that you Devs must be tired of the nagging going on these days. But I get the frustration a lot of players have.

New content patch and we are back again to daily quests with to few and way to long spawn time. The daily quest “Gold’s No Object” is just appalling, people standing around at spawn points, on top of each other for way way to long to finish the quest. Is this the fun and fast daily quest you wanted us to have ?
Then we have the chests/nests etc of Korthia. Why are they back to the old “Can’t loot in combat” when there are mobs all over this small map and when those items despawn so fast after someone else loots them ? If you are on a low geared char without vanish/FD or invis or a slow killing tank/heal then you go from disappointment after disappointment cause fear/stun etc won’t help you. And it is not like those things aren’t important if you want to progress in Korthia.

Do you not have Checklists ?
Every time a new quest is made do you not run down the list to see if:
The mobs can be tagged by multiple chars.
There are enough mobs.
The spawn time is fast/slow enough.
The drop rate is good enough
Etc. Etc.

It’s not like this is the first time at all, remember 8.3 ? And the Light or Void only knows how many patches before that.

Then there is the mess that is Wow of today, just take a look at the Currency tab and look at the amount of different tokens etc for SL. We are in the very first content patch of this expan. And already there are more different tokens than any full expan in the past. Why can’t there be less clutter with tokens that are used throughout the expan, to upgrade armor/weapons etc for players who don’t raid or run M+ or high end pvp. This isn’t a big problem but it is a mess and not the only one.

Another small thing but annoying nonetheless. the clutter of baselining class spells, Why ?
It just looks weird and lazy that a Survival hunter has Tranquilizing and Kill shot but Arcane and Steady shot requires range weapon… insignificant in the big picture yes! but!

Please have a good look at the bug report forum and do something about all those old things, not working right, cause it adds up. Just go ask Snurk Bucksquick at the Grom’gul Zeppelin in Orgrimmar where the zeppelin is, and she will tell you that it has just departed from Orgrimmar, even when it is docking right in front of you. I just looked shortly at when it was first reported and I found posts dating back to 2016 on this one. Again not big issues but when you add them up I get why people are mad atm.
We see how much you make from us and can’t help wonder why not enough of that goes back into making this the great game, we have loved for so long.

Sorry for making yet another one of those posts. But it does get to you, when something you have put so many years/money/time and in a way love into, turns to disappointment over and over again.

That quest needs disabling until it’s fixed or fecked off forever into the void from whence it came.

Fully agree with everything OP. I used to think devs had a rough time, honestly I just think they’re absolutely incompetent now. There’s absolutely no chance that anyone thought this was a good idea. So much feedback from PTR and beta, just completely ignored. I don’t even think it’s devs just ignoring us these days, they purposely add in stuff to spite us.

My experience today has been absolutely miserable, I’ve hated every second I’ve been logged in to wow. After yesterday when I found myself none stop raging with the insane amount of bugs. This has literally been my day -

  1. Started with torghast, bugged out going through the door on floor 4. Was perma stunned half way phased through. Relogged back on floor 1.
  2. Decided to do some Korthia, had 3 disconnects jumping off hills and hitting dead tiles, cost me 2 rare bosses and 30 mins extra time to do it.
  3. That gold quest was a nightmare with insanely low spawns and over 50+ people there on silvermoon, over 30 mins to get a quest done for 1/10th of an item upgrade?
  4. The rare boss on the island far left of korth bugged out between the islands off the map and dissapeared.
  5. Needed 3 more items from chests for those skit pages, took me an hour of them despawning before I could get any where near them
  6. The island south of korth jumped over 2 small islands, hit an invisible wall for absolutely no reason. Killed me and my body bugged in a completely unreachable place so had to rez at angel.

This is in 4 hours of playing, absolutely disgusted with the state of the game. It’s a rushed out mess, full of bugs and not up to standard at all. This is a billion dollar company, with over 20 years experience. That is creating a game with far less quality then valheim for example, that was made by a handful of mates, first ever game! And to top it off we’ve paid £80 in sub fees for this. But at least the store mounts got a completely unique skeleton, run animation and mount special. I’m literally speachless with 9.1, and being time gated more then we have been for tiny upgrades that are below a m0 next week.

Whilst that is a good solution, considering the number of complaints I have seen about this today, I don’t think it’s unfair to expect a more permanent solution by Blizzard and increase the damn spawn timer :slight_smile:

Oh I agree, the quest is a mess, but for now grouping up is the best solution

Ion mentioned in a pretty recent interview that they have been looking at Classic for the design of some things. Which is why you have seen a lot of design choices from Classic making it’s way back into retail. Like all those things you mentioned, they (somewhat) promote grouping. And socialization was one of the key things Ion mentioned as things they want to bring back.

So they likely do have a checklist, except they check for the opposite of what you want.

The common trait of Blizzard since Vanilla: Forget lessons learned.
It really baffles my mind how they sometimes come up with good things only to abandon them just a patch later.

It is frustrating like crazy.

Man…they have no time for things like that…they already busy by doing “old content” like running again TBC or D2 retouch… no time for new stuff…

99.9% of design choices in this game are intentional.

Thinking that Blizzard does anything by accident in this game is wishful thinking. It’s not a mistake, it’s a feature.

I don’t think blizz got any developer atm.

If that’s the case I’d say they are incompetent… Playerbase who plays classic is inherently different than retail. If I’d like to ‘enjoy’ classic feeling and it’s pain I’d play classic. But they reverted lessons learned in retail like the vanishing treasures.

It is just annoying

golds no object is easily done if you group up … i know its irritating but youll be done in 2 mins if you do. Thats the trick with it.

cant loot in combat does annoy, granted.

meh, just move the currency youre not bothered about to the ‘unused’ and youll never have to give a dang about it ever again. Mountain out of a molehill.

picked up a 220 ring today, 1000 research thingies (very easy to go 1k, couple of rares, couple of chests etc). More than high enough ilvl for lil me and my LFRing. Plenty of decent gear, 1 currency.

right, that bug seems inconsequential really … if the zepelin is there, who cares if some chap you talked to before it arrived says it aint here yet. Yes i get that its a bug (possibly, depending on when you initiated the conversation) but meh.

one aditional note, id looooove it if the research questline in korthia would be made account wide. Im sick of doing the questline on alts. Oh and give me my damn skip to get to oribos.
Apart from all that, sl good and i really like korthia … please stop messing with the rare spawntimes though

but as you have seen, the reason they did it like it is, is to force you to ‘socialise’ and group up.
Thats why they did it … and thats why its classed as intentional … and thats why enforcing ‘socialising’ is a very very very very stupid idea.

Devs are not tired of the nagging at all because they don’t read any of it.

Yeah that quest gold no object made me think are we back to the start of this game…so sad to see that.

This shows how out of touch Ion and the direction of the Dev team are.

WHY are they taking inspiration from classic when RETAIL IS NOT CLASSIC. Classic should never influence design decisions for retail because they are aimed at two completely different types of players.

The amount of times over the last 2 expansions they’ve implemented things bthen backtracked 2/3 weeks later because of the outrage you’d have thought they’d head in the right direction? You know like collection quests being personal, or lower boss respawn rates or just legitimatly designing content NOT to drag it out for an ungodly amount of time. Not everyone can play 16+ hours a day like the streamers do to wait hours for a boss to spawn.

The reason for the many currencies is that Blizzard is afraid of using gold. This causes an infinite number of problems that aren’t related AT ALL to the metered progression and Blizzard dictating the pace of our game. Gold inflation means average players cannot possibly afford good legendaries in time. You’d be surprised how many players consider themselves rich when they have 10k gold. The reason why legendary bases are so expensive is that there’s a ton of gold going around, causing the price of everything to go up.

This means only the wealthiest/most powerful players can afford the power that’s supposed to equalize us. 400k for some 226 gloves. This is ONLY due to gold inflation.

Stygia, soul ash, conduit energy should’ve cost gold. Swapping covenants should always be instant and just cost some gold. The titan research and the archive can stay. All else should be turned into gold.

The problem is that then players will complain that this is Blizz “pushing us to buy tokens”… when in reality, the current system is heavily pushing everyone towards buying tokens. The gold inflation also causes the token’s perceived value to go up, especially in the eyes of players who do not understand gold’s value. Imagine a player who thinks having 10k gold is a lot seeing they can get 200k gold for 20 euro.

Azerite reforging was a good system. It did not affect average and casual players at all and it drained gold out of the most powerful and wealthiest players. The gold was sunk and taken out of the economy.

This is a statement of fact - the less gold there is to go around, the more valuable gold is. Yes, we get a ton of gold in Shadowlands, but gold is a meaningless currency used to buy mounts… who cares about it?

Not true. Leather/mail mats are so much harder to come by than cloth and they’re wanted by more classes. If they wanted legendary base items to be less (which they dont for an unknown reason probably ‘you must play more to afford’) then they’d massively increase the influx of mainly mail/leather mats.

The amount of mats needed to level up to rank 4s is obscene

A classic reminder of the Dilbert Principle right here and is " The most ineffective workers are put in the place they can do least damage MANAGEMENT!" what you just said here is that summed up with a lot more words the people who are running this game and Ion as well and I hate to say this are idiots and these same idiots are running this game into the ground and we are watching it burn as they do so.
