How to revive retail

1.) Make the game more rewarding - 0,1% best players in m+ get only title, while gladiators get mount, transmogs, title really? Maybe do more rewards for people in 0,5 and 1 percent?
2.) Dont time-gate stuff
3.) Reputations account-wide
4.) You can get raid trinkets in m+ and in pvp and otherwise
5.) Dont recycle old content
6.) Daily login rewards

  1. No. If you want to revive retail, you need to focus on more than 0.1, 0.5 or even 1% of the players. There are 99% other players who are waiting to have fun aswell. So, stop focusing on these 5 guys at the very “top” and start trying to make a better game for everyone.

  2. Yea, whatever. It’s less important than #1.

  3. Whatever again.

  4. Or let every content type rewards be usable only in their content type.

  5. What ? A lot of people would like it if they used the old zones of azeroth and did something amazing with them, instead of transporting us all the time to random unknown planets/dimensions we don’t really care about fighting bosses that are completely irrelevant to the original lore.

  6. yea, of course. Add microtransactions and some other mobile crap aswell.

FOMO is a huge problem and you advocate daily login rewards?

You can’t make this stuff up.

Are you sure you want to revive WoW with these suggestions?

Nerf the top 3 dps classes make better rotations for the classes that sucks. Also have better dps class balance and not make the same misstake with top dps doing 3 times the dps of the lowest dps in game.
Make Mythic raiding only drop transmog customization that has a special tint if you do it during the season its out and not have the best gear in game rewarded in mythic raiding. Also put back that gear in HC make it share loot table with m+ 15.

Make raiding feel special again

you forgot something important.

  1. lessen requirements for PC

(DF requirements skyrocketed from SL for absolutely no reason and I know enough wow veteran players who will not be able to continue playing simply because of this)

  1. reduce sub costs

(I’m not here to say that it’s unreal to save up this crazy amount of money, but cheap subs are able to attract crazy amount of people, instead.)
Frequent sub giveaways can also do the things but blizz does quite the opposite last years.

Idk I couldn’t care less for titles and mounts. Transmogs maybe.

That was made for casuals.

Unity?

Why? That’s made to encourage people to play different content.

Like? Timewalking? The opposite should be the case, more timewalking dungeons in form of M+ please.

Free stuff for not playing the game? Like all the mobile games? What for?..

no lol /10 char

Make the game a game again!!!

Let’s get away from having ‘chores’ and ‘set targets’ that need to be done everyday, Make the game one of exploration and levelling again in a fantasy world.

In short, less ‘Endgame’ more the ‘Journey getting there’

  1. Loot for everyone participating in dungeons.

  2. Dungeons length should be like gambit. 15 minutes at most

  3. No snowflake gear for 0.1% from mythic raids usable in m+

  4. BALANCE PATCH EVERY 2 WEEKS

Yay, more boosting sells.

Rofl, what.

That would push people into playing the low CD classes. It would be awful for something like balance druid that would get like 4-5 uses of CA in the whole dungeon.

I don’t think people like you understand that making games excessively rewarding is a huge reason why people don’t like the game, and indeed many games these days.

It’s because it counter-intuitive, at least at face value (well you know, people often seem to not have the ability to see 1/10 of an inch in front of them). More rewards=less value per reward.

It’s a bit different with a loot 'em up focused game like Diablo - and no World of Warcraft is nothing like that and in fact there is FAR more to the game than loot, again despite what some may think. Though they even managed to ruin Diablo 3 by dropping too much loot, again.

It’s just all part of the prevalent ‘everyone is special all the time’ attitude, which in fact means no one is.

Then they should be more rewarding. Saw many guild mates quit early on because you got no loot after 2h of dungeon spamming.

And I know no single person that screaming in joy after receiving a dos key.

On the other hand people were happy to get gambit as it has interesting boss mechanics and is quickly done if played correctly

Also balance druid is a s show atm

How to fix retail. Appease to the top 1%? what planet are you on hahahaha

  1. How to fix retail, put rewards in a totally unbalanced, meta inducing bracket that force you to smash your head over and over in the same dungeon, resetting it until you get “THE RUN” and upgrade the key.

  2. Don’t time gate stuff so people can be like “bohoooooo Blizzard i don’t get invited because people that can play 24/7 are way ahead of me and i can’t get a single invite”

  3. Fair point but is not like this will make people go “OMG I WANNA GO BACK TO PLAY WOW”

  4. How about reworking Raids, they are obviously a recipe that does not work in retail?

  5. Speak for yourself i guess? WoW has a gigaton of unused content, it is totally stupid to leave it there to rot and a lot of people asked for that over the years.

  6. Yeah good, how to make people feel bad because they cannot login. Daily reward does not force you to play, they just force you to login.

Honestly, never design a game.

Rewards for everyone:

1- make gameplay so good it feels like a reward playing
2- make story/lore so good it feels like a reward playing
3- make tuning so good it feels like a reward playing
4- make content so good it feels like a reward
simply
by
playing
the
game

Stop gear rewards at a reasonably high difficulty aka +15keys, hc raids, full conquest gear farmed, and let the difficulty above that rewarrds tmogs/mounts bragging rights.

Appease to the 1% means you have 1% players in the game left.

First point was just example, ofc you need to make it more rewarding in more areas than just elites content, for me personally i quitted cause i was not rewarded enough for tryharding M+

There is just too much content you could do, why just lock it behind time-gate its gonna take a sh*tload of time to farm anyway.

Reputations and more stuff account wide to be easily able to switch on alt as main, i refuse to start farm everything again its like playing game from scratch and it doesnt feel the same.

There is just a lot locations from wow lore which are still not in game.

A i stand opinion more better youre in-game you deserve better rewards to feel you more special and you have something to chase. It doesnt have to be gear to give you advance but atleast some nice mount or somethin.

Cause in the end MMOs were always about end-game content which in wow are raids and m+

And i forgot one more thing: Bring back master loot for raiding guilds atleast. Leave the personal one for pugs.
