Was so hyped for BFA when it camed out but like any other expansion since Wotlk i have always been disappointed of the outcome. There is no feeling of actually achieving something in wow anymore. You dont actually feel any difference when you get a new item. Everything nowadays is how you do your rotation and just look at icyveins or other sites what is best for you but it doesnt feel like any hype for it at all.
I played some heroics and mythics with some friends and it was fun because it was new, but soon as the raid came out… I lost interest instantly. The difference with the older expansions is that when you hit max level you had to actually do stuff to get items for dungeons and raids. Like keys pre-quest reputation and more. Now its just cut-scenes, boring and same world quests that you do over and over again.
With the same items hoping for a titanforged. Basically just doing boring stuff for a chance to get a titanforged item which doesnt even get any satisfaction at all. I remember just playing when Nostalrius came out (which is the reason classic is happening in the first place <3)
Is the feeling of getting Smite mighty hammer from Deadmines and my first lvl 15 gray shoulders. My night elf warrior looked so good and i was so happy with him. I couldnt wait to continue my journey to 60 with my friends as we proceed to new zones.
I played vanilla when i was like 8-9 so i didnt really understand the game at the time. But to play it now as 20+ was so f-ing fun! Just to do the SM-pre quest to get Bonebiter was awesome. I remember my friend getting Edgemaster’s Handguards from a random mob and he didnt even know how BIS it was for warriors and that he could sell it on AH for 600-1000gold. Just that random item lvl 44 mail gloves which was so good because it had 7weapon skills for Axes Daggers and Swords. But im not gonna sit here talk about how great vanilla was or bc and wotlk. Im here to talk about how to save this awesome mmorpg. I have an idea of just making a whole new world, because considering the lore its much more to explore. But i mean like a whole new world like lvling your character 120-200. Exploring once again, doing group quests and dungeon quests with your friends.
To get items and new talents as you go on your journey to lvl 200, and to make lvl 200 actually feel like you just started the game. Doing pre-raid quests, keys for dungeons and raids. That you need reputation for a dungeon or raid, not just to get a new mount and useless gear that will be bad after 2 weeks because you got titanforged items or other epics more easily. To make proffesions important again. Crafting legendary items like Sulfuron Hammer and get Eye of Sulfurus that kind of thing.
The reason why is i want this is because… lvling 10 or 5 lvls every expansions is just pointless. Its over in like 1 day. You are bored to death with non important items from quests and mobs that you kill with 1 blow. Or 20 mobs with just an aoe. Me on the other hand love the lore in wow, so the only thing that i do in wow nowadays is going back to older raids and dungeons just to see easter eggs or learn more lore and actually experience it myself.
I watch the new cutscenes and movies that comes out because i love the graphics and stories. I would love to discuss more of this with all of you because i can write 100 more things here but it will take forever. Please comment your thoughts and sorry for any mispelling and bad english.
Peace
Bring back RPG elements instead of a stupid systems like Azerite, Islands of AFKfonts…
Like gotdamnit - give hunters the quivers back, poisons to rogues, books to paladins or whatever. You get what I mean.
Let the crafted gear be Legendary (or almost one) for the tier and make professions matter.
Let jewelcrafters be able to create sockets in our gear, make gear crafting be equal to the raid drops (get rid of the gear shower from M+ as it’s apparently there for a challenge and instead ended up as a sole gear source), let scribes ability to write buff pages once more for us, give enginiers their utility tools like a rocket boots allowing you to hover for a while or something. And so on and so on…
Get rid of class weapon restrictions? Wanna be two-handing axe mage? Go for it. Wanna be a wand dual wielding holy paladin? Go for it. I don’t care it’s not viable or that there will always be the best set. I want varienty and options, just give it back.
Bring back weapon specialisation skills, bring back miss, dodge, resist etc stats… I mean always going for a haste is such a fun and engaging character development (yawn).
Do a level squish - keep it at 60.
instead of higher levels, give each expansion a history page (available while speaking with Chromie) which you can go back to (speak to chromie) and progress through / complete it’s own legacy levels / trophies / achievements etc. And talent trees, yes old expansion specific talent trees. So what it would be nerfed or not working outside that “expansion period”, just bring it back.
Make current expansion current - like we start at lvl1, we level to 10 and bam we’re in orgrimar/stormwind speaking to current leader and taking part in current expansion while leveling. No just 10 levels, 50 levels of current expansion.
Want an alt but you don’t want to go through old content but focus on a current one? GO LEVEL IN CURRENT CONTENT. Go for a current pvp and level that way if it’s to you taste.
And once the exansion is done, move it to legacy with all our progress through it and let us level up back from lvl10 again in the next one.
Make the game about the journey, not a sprint to the end and afkfronting for a freeware gear or whatever bullcrap BfA introduced.
Outside of some class design issues that’s mostly a you issue, you realize it right ? You could play howether you want with far more freedom and player agency than you ever had in classic for example. What’s wrong with there being a better build ? Unless you push your keys or raid how you play is more important than your build, so why bother with icy veins ?
Outside of some nostalgia, lack of paragraphs and progression issues that could somewhat ne solved in 8.2 I’d like to talk about this :
Are we playing the same game ? My DH with almost heroic quality gear can tank 20 mobs, i doubt you could while leveling as a dps (can’t tell for prot as i don’t play tank.) you can kill things faster than classic and yes you can take one or two more mobs at once than classic. It ends there when it comes to leveling.
It takes about 10 hour to go from 110 to 120. Should it be higher in your opinion ? Considering these levels main goal is to reset secondary stats and introduce you to the new expansion lore i don’t see why we should spend weeks there.
About your post itself : what are your suggestions though ? I see better professions (sure I’d love it) and more usefull reputations. Did i miss anything ? Kinda hard to tell since you just made a wall of text
If that’s it then i’m afraid the game need much more than that. Something along the Line of :
Mythic + rewok with specific rewards, affixes and dungeons balance and change the reward system
rework the WF/TF system into a more systematic system, which still aims to make older content relevant while at the same time be less RNG focus.
Change the azerite sources so that your PvP/pve content is more rewarding and make azerite less focused on WQ
More frequent balance updates for specs lagging behind
for the long term consider adding more depth to classes and more tools. I know it’s vague but having interactions between parts of the kit is something i really miss with my DH compared to other specs (we have eye beam and … ?)
I made some space between the text, my common tongue is not english so sorry for mispelling and i just wanted to express myself fast on the forums and too see how many of you agreed
Saving WoW from what exactly? Even if the retail game ain’t got as much content as the hype for classic produces Blizzard wins in the long run one way or another.
After a car accident that left me and 3 other friends unable to log in for a few months we came back to find that all of the gold from successful sales and items we had posted on the AH, a few thousand items, some of which are no longer acquirable in game, were permanently lost without a single hope of retrieving them.
With such rare collectible items lost and the lack of capabilities from the part of GMs to retrieve them we have stopped playing for good.
I just find it incredible that a few years ago, they had you covered up to 3 months, now its a matter of days.
From a technical standpoint that makes no sense, other than the fact that they don’t want to bother with it or found it to be more profitable that way.
This was the straw that broke the camel’s back, but over the last 10 years I saw a truly dramatic drop in the quality of costumer support, to think this is a service I have been paying for over a decade, I feel ripped off in many ways.
I hope new players keep this in mind, found a truly rare item that can sell for millions?
Never get in to an accident without taking them out of your inbox! xD
Remember, you are not valued, your effort over the next decade if the game lives that long, is not valued, your info, your collectibles, are not valued, protect your self, don´t expect to be told about these things from the developers, look for this information your self, it can save your account in the future.
PS: There are private servers out there with much better custumer support!
Isn’t that what happened with the new classes?
Thousands of people bought the game thinking they would start a new with these races only to find that you would need months of rep farming?
Blizz loves these things, whatever keeps you paying for longer, I would imagine they get Repgating tattoos on their cheeks, the bottom ones…
