How to secure your monthly gametime for free

Hello, this guide is for people like me who LOVE the game, but are unfortunately jobless or just cannot afford the monthly payment subscription. A friend of mine gifted me one month, but he said I should learn and see how i can pay it for myself with IN-GAME GOLD. So here i will introduce you to two ways, which are efficient and will guarantee you these 30 days of gametime.

  1. Are you guys ready for the fishing week? Once a month, there is an event called Darkmoon Faire, which lasts an entire week. Since yesterday, DarkMoon Faire is open and people have the opportunity to enter it, spam fishing for Darkmoon daggermaw (it’s a fish that restores 5% hp/mp per sec for 20 seconds), which sells for EXTREMELY good price in the Auction House per unit. Just for an hour, you can make an average of 3-5k gold. So i suggest you to jump in, learn fishing and go do it! The event will last 6 more days, so you can manage to make atleast 100-200k gold & more if you’re dedicated. The fish within the darkmoon faire week, sells for average of 15-18g per unit, after the event ends (supposedly the prices go even higher) fishing lasts 21seconds (let’s calculate it roughly in the worst case scenario) that each fish will be caught on the 20 second. that’s 3 fishes PER MINUTE. 3x60 = 180. x 15g (minimum rough price, usually it’s higher) = 2,7k gold for only an hour. x 10hour = 27k gold. that’s just for 10 hours a day. x7 days = 189k gold. As i said, usually the prices are higher, so that means if you sell 18g a piece, that’s 226k gold for 7days. And if you’re patient and you wait till the event is over the price could go even higher. And the WoW token averages around 180k gold. So just for a single week, you guarantee your 30days of game time. I know fishing can be very boring, but i suggest you to do something meanwhile as well, watching some tv series, or read book or something to keep you entertained and have your WoW sound (just the effects) so that you can hear when the fish catches, so you can get it & throw again for the next. Apart from that, you occasionally will catch sharks, which drop up to 10 fishes, so that furtherly speeds the gathering process & amount of gold you’ll receive.

  2. I found out that once you reach 120 and you’re geared semi-well (currently im 437 ilvl) you can run LEGACY raids for gold + loot which you sell to the vendor. Yesterday , I ran 4 raids on the 3 difficulties (normal, heroic, mythic) which total gave me 23k gold by looting + selling all the items to the vendors + you could get some good BOE’s (bound on equip) which you can then sell to the AH for some amount (depending on what you got) . And that’s ONLY for 4 raids (there are lot more raids) so technically, you could make up to 30-40k (maybe) on a single character. What’s the next step? Level up MORE characters. That’s right. if you have 5-10 characters at level 120, you can do raids on a weekly basis gathering up to 200k+ or more gold. If you have 10 characters and you clear ALL raids, your amount will increase to 300-400k PER WEEK. so , if fishing is boring for you, you will no longer need to do it. Currently what im doing is, I have one character at 120 to which i cleared these raids, now im fishing till the event is over, after that I will once again clear all the raids (since the reset will happen) , after that i will proceed to leveling new character, (then the reset will happen again) after that proceed to leveling the new character then clear raids with the new character and eventually both characters. Then more character leveling ,then raid clears, then fishing, then … etc , etc , etc . Until i secure my 5-10 characters for the weekly raids. Blizzard is an amazing game company which is usually p2p (pay to play) but they offer this incredible opportunity so that players can pay with in-game currency to continue to play, for this i give them big thumbs up! Hopefully soon i will get a job so that i can support them with real monthly subscription, since they deserve it.

Thank you for reading this guide, hopefully i was helpful (im kinda new to this , started playing 2-3 weeks ago, but i have slight experience from years ago) you can find me on insta (@astralguardian) , it’s a brand new acc specifically for WoW daily content, so you can drop me a follow there if you like what you see

Oh, also my bad (I didn’t realize it was using characters to post, not the usernames … so it’s using one from before? unfortunately I cannot delete the post, so i switched to my main character , this one) So i’ll be using this one from now on

You can run raids, from Siege of Orgrimmar and above, on 4 difficulties - the three you mention and LFR. You can solo-queue for the Warlords LFRs by speaking to Seer Kazal near your Garrison’t door. You can queue for SoO at the Raid Finder Storyteller at the Lorewalkers above Mogu’shan Palace. You can queue for Legion LFRs at one of the guys at the corner of the plaza in front of Violet Hold.

You can also earn a pretty steady 4.5K/hour by repeatedly running Skyreach dungeon 10 times an hour. It’s quite do-able.

You can also earn up to 8-9K an hour with Skinning by repeatedly running straight into the crosswalk at Atal’dazar, killing and skinning the dinos, and making leather pieces to vendor. Though at 437, you might be too slow to complete 10 runs in an hour.

However, all these methods will be at least affected ub a couple of weekd by pre-patch. At the moment, it seems that on the PTR and Beta, all of them are nerfed into complete uselessness. It might not stay that way, but be aware that there will at least be changes.

At the start of a new expansion like Shadowlands is the opportunity to make gold. There is one very simple way that is pretty guaranteed are requires little skill: take Herbalism, get to 120, and spend all your time Herbing. For the first 4-6 weeks, prices will be INSANE as people scramble to make and buy pots and flasks for the early M+ and raids. You can make millions in those weeks.

Also be aware that the Token price in gold typically jumps a lot at the start of an expansion. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it at 300K around launch.

Also, continued farming, whether of instances or materials, is hard work. If you want to establish a reliable revenue stream, by all means farm your heart out to gather some working capital, but then learn some ideas around shuffling and flipping. See the woweconomy forum on Reddit for a start.

thank you for the tips! appreciate it.

Except DMF in fishing you only get daggermaw from pools and you can’t find many of those.

Also, would a few more paragraphs kill you?

And I use my 200 k from selling teebu blazing sword to max my mining/jewelcrafting skill to 300 + outlants/northrend 75.
Not sure how much i left now lol.
I love playing this game on my own way with my daughter in our special mini world.
Not realy related to topic sorry

That’s OK. It’s always good to hear of someone just enjoying their time in the game, without thoughts of minmaxing or pressure of gold.
