How will the X-faction pve work?

So from my Experience as alliance pusher early on, was that it was no keys at all, now that i look back i should have just transfered to horde, but i took a lame path of lvling a new char and by the time it was getting relevant it was too far behind on gear and io.
it was like 50 times more keys on horde, and i guess its still gonna be like that or even worse.

So my question is should i just transfer all my chars to horde?

Im planning on doing 15-20 keys on alot of chars, like atleast Monk, mage, warr, hunter,dh,druid. maybe more… im gonna step aside from pushing keys i mean beyond 20. as i see no reason any more to do that kind stuff.

will X-faction be a option or is it by default?

because if its by option im afraid alot of players wont use it. and im stuck on the terrible side for doing keys. i’d have to transfer maybe 7 chars and i question if its really worth it :S

There won’t be any real reason to transfer to the Horde if you’re pushing keys with your battle.net friends or community. Mythic plus will be fully cross-faction.

Besides, with cross-faction happening I can see a lot of mythic plus pushers switching to the Alliance for the Shadowmeld racial.

im just a puger, so for me the amount of keys and ppl puging matters extremly much.

also want to add, chanes of finding friends to do keys with should be higer on horde due the fact that it has more players doing that kind of stuff.

But pugs will also be cross-faction. You’ll be able to create or join cross-faction groups in the Looking for Group.

I guess we find out more when 9.2.5 comes out. Lets worry about 9.2 for the time being.

I guess Horde will be more prompt than alliance to use the Same faction only option, but most groups wont. Alliance has some of the best racials for MM+ and it’s just stupid to be faction proud beyond having more people to tag with.

yes it has, but the amount of players doing the content also matters, if ur looking for relevant friends. its more esay if there simpley is more playeers. atleast for me that sounds logical

But if things are cross-faction, then you’ll have access to the Horde player pool as an Alliance player.

yes i read the article posted here, it will be a option. im afraid most horde wont be using the option.

To be fair, there is a 3-4 month gap between now and 9.2.5, so if you feeel like playing and doing your 15-20 in that gap, maybe the transfer is worth, at least on your main.

Well, depends. From what I understood cross-faction will be default in the LFG but there will be an option to restrict it to one faction only. But I really don’t see many Horde players opting not to play with the Alliance. Surely most serious M+ pushers don’t care about who they take as long as they’re skilled?

this is why its urgent for me to be fast. once ppl are geared from raids and are CE, anyone not having CE will be ignored. and this time i wont only compete vs alliance but also horde. so i have to be super effective fast

Cross faction is optional you can opt out of it if you want in all content.
LFG for LFR Heroic dung etc is faction only.
M+ groups can choose to play faction only.
Guilds are faction only.
High M+ pushers wont care what faction you play.
For guilds it will be more difficult to inv cross faction.
Who will you leave out the group if you already have a roster because someone wants his friend(s) to play with them in raid.
For pugs it wont matter thy will take anyone regardless of facion.

I see. But to get Cutting Edge you don’t need to be on the Horde, and it’s not really a good choice to pug it. Someone with your skill should probably be able to get into a good Alliance Cutting Edge guild, yes?

As for pushing without Cutting Edge, you should have no issues finding a cross-faction group.

Well, i made the move to switch Horde to play with friends, that patch. My main is actually Horde, but all my Alliance toon are going to catch up with 9.2.5, when i’ll be able to group with them. I know you’re pugguing, but maybe it can be your way to go. Focus on 1 char for 3-4 months, and after the rush start, you enjoy your alt even more than before.

TBF, Alliance guild are now:

  1. Small Mythic guilds that play together for 1 patch.
  2. Big orgs with close to no recrutment.

There is no more in-between, not in my server, tho. The serious players are all considering to transfer since 2 expansions. It’s just not viable to stay Alliance if you’re not already in a big rooster and have CE aspiration.

It won’t matter much in 9.2.5. While cross-faction will be opt in, one would be silly to not opt in, even when one’s on the horde side. But even if they don’t opt-in when listing their key, you, as an alliance player, can opt in, and have horde of hordies apply to yours.

Do keep in mind that cross-faction is coming in 9.2.5, not 9.2, so we’ll be halfway through the season at that point.

The beauty of cross-faction play is that you’ll be able to find horde friends as alliance. It won’t be noticably easier on either side, as far as M+ is concerned.

The faction of friends won’t matter, so whether there’s more horde or alliance, will matter little.

Most horde listing keys will not, yes, because they can just fill the group with their own factions. Most horde applying to keys, though, will.

No need to transfer Sivaria, from what I understood you can do keys with Horde players in 2.5, and should also apply to raiding (or any premade in general). Also, any friends can join you from both sides of the pitch.

I think Sivaria’s fear is that even though cross-faction play will be in 9.2.5, horde players will have little reason to list their keys as open to alliance players, thus, alliance players will have less keys to apply to.

That’s a valid fear, indeed.

However, as an alliance player, one will be able to list their key as open to horde, and horde players will apply, because there’s just too many DPS on that side too, so having more keys available is just a boon.

If it’ll be possible for an addon to automatically tick the “cross-faction enabled” box, that’d be great, 'cos more people on horde side will enable it then, too, because it’s no extra hassle.
