How works Arena mmr?

Start new week. People get items from greate vaults, upgrade them. I don’t understand how works Arena.

Like example, I’ve 189 ilvl and have 27000 HP. When I go arena 2s or 3s with the same guys, we got enemies with 32000 or even 34000 HP. Of course skill is not important, they cut us in a seconds.

My CR around 1100, and team mates the same but mmr says 1200.

Also hows counting ratings give/lose. Cause I’ve got for win +10 and for lose -11 or -17. How it possible gain rating in this case?

So how it can be so huge gap in HP? Probably I don’t understand something? Looks hardest condition to play fairly

Well you get matched against players based on your rating. The queue system will always try to find opponents of a similar rating. It does not look at the quality of gear people have, it only looks at rating.

Your MMR is usually ahead of your actual rating. That is because the MMR is used by the queue system to try and determine your “true” rating level and find opponents of a similar MMR.
Your actual rating is based on your wins and losses, so that reflects your success as well as the volume of games you’ve played. Your MMR is entirely generated by the queue system trying to gauge your “true” rating level based on the games you’ve played.
It’s a bit convoluted and difficult to explain, but if your MMR is a bit ahead of your actual rating, then that’s perfectly normal. It just means the game thinks you’re better than the rating level you currently play at.

If you get +10 rating for a win and -17 for a loss, then that means you’ve won against an adequate opponent and lost against a weaker opponent.
You basically gain and lose rating depending on the rating level of your opponents.
If the enemy team is high-rated and you win, you get lots of rating.
If the enemy team is low-rated and you win, you don’t get a lot of rating.
If the enemy team is high-rated and you lose, you don’t lose a lot of rating.
If the enemy team is low-rated and you lose, you lose a lot of rating.

There are some other details, like rating inflation and initial games and formula, and so on, but that’s roughly how it works.

One thread was not enough?

I try understand how it works. In this particular case. I do not deny that I can be bad arena player, what’s bad here?

No thing, my bad this time. Jito gave a good explanation.

No I’m really try understand. Cause ont pay for it. It’s simple. If my fails is 100% percent is my fault – ok. If 70% – is ok. If 60% – is acceptable. If 50% – is bad designed something. In this particular case I guess a game. Cause I think something change in mmr, above ppl says that not. I can’t accept that I so bad player, especially when I have characters with this fkin 1400 even more.

So nothing special, really tried to understand. Cause looks like it’s not 100% my fault.

It’s worth pointing out that if you win 50% of your games and you are matched against equal opponents, then that is actually exactly how it should be. That means the rating you have is indicative of your performance.

If everyone is playing at their true rating and face opponents of a similar rating, then everyone should have a 50% win-rate.

The MMR and queue system is designed to try and find opponents similar to yourself. So if you have a 50% win-rate, then that means the queue system found opponents with a performance similar to your own.
That is what the game aims for. A 50% win-rate isn’t bad. It means you’re playing at your current performance level.

If you have higher or lower win-rate, then that’s usually because your rating hasn’t caught up (or down) to your actual performance level. Maybe you’re a Gladiator playing a new character, so you’re winning all your games until you eventually reach a high rating/MMR where you face opponents more similar to yourself - and then the win-rate stabilizes closer to 50%.

So 50% win-rate doesn’t mean the design is bad or flawed. A 50% win-rate is what the game actively tries to get everyone to have. And ideally, if the queue system is perfect at matching everyone against equal opponents, then everyone should also have a 50% win-rate. But matchmaking isn’t so simple.

Sorry, here is not about win-rate. Here is 50% share of fault. Cause I know Im not good arena player, but not so bad as ppl says. Just more than 50% of fault is a game balance. That’s it. And I thought something I’ve miss (cause totally miss BfA) or something was changed in mmr system. But no, ppl says how it works. That’s it

Also tnx every body in any case. Just probably is a time to say good bay one of the favourite game…
