Will we ever get some good damage output?
Not only do we have the worse damage to help out in dungeons, but the abilitys we do have to use are the same we use for healing, so wasting 3 holy power for a very WEAK shield of the righteous and holy shocks on mobs can cause us to miss a window where the team needs healing.
Compare to a shaman who can play with one hand just spamming chain lightnings, lava bursts etc…
I quite like having the choice (i.e. dual-use skills and resource), but I agree the damage does not feel meaningful. Meanwhile Preservation Evoker can deal some pretty tasty numbers without significant tradeoffs (and may this never change!).
Even Tanks do ten times the dmg of a Holypaladin. It is ridiculous. I will not complain about the heal, for me it is “ok”. Shamans and Evoker can pump out way more but i surely have a problem with it when they also contribute much more damage and bringt even more utility for the party.
I’m actually surprised at myself when healing dungeons with my damage. I passively do 300k+ DPS when I pop CDs while just healing high amounts of damage.
I feel like we do pretty decent damage for very low effort considering.
