[H][RP-WPvP] Relic Seekers 🪙

Dragon Isles. A land open for discovery… a land open for profit.

While the majority of explorers and adventurers help the Major factions on the isles, there are a select few that have choosen to sell their finds to where most money is to be found.

Beyond relics of the Dragon Isles, opportunities have risen from the precious heirlooms and trinkets the explorers have brought with them, all interesting commodities for wealthy collectors in Silvermoon, Suramar, Keezan and beyond.

Relic Seekers is one such group that is trying to meet up with the demand. As long as you do not mind a little blood on the wares. Nothing a good scrub and soap couldn’t remove.

The < Relic Seekers > is a RP-WPvP guild, based around hunting adventurers, archeologists and explorers (players in Warmode) on the Dragon Isles. Not necessarily to kill, but to take their ‘precious relics’ and ‘curious mementos’. Things they can peddle off for good money somewhere else.

In essence, World PvP is a Roleplaying activity for us.

What is your RP like?
It depends if we’re with Warmode on or off.

Warmode:
We hunt the Dragon Isles, with light and/or deep RP on the side, seeking to find and slay players of the opposing faction. We ‘rate’ our kills by the ‘quality’ of the fight, and determine what can be carried by the felled foe by their ‘race’, ‘class’ and ‘spec’. Sometimes also using ‘zone’ and ‘subzone’ to determine, if it could be an item native to Dragon Isles that the ‘explorer’ has picked up.

Rating kills

Uncommon - An easy, unchallenging kill. A “gank”.
Rare - A good fight.
Very Rare - An extremely good, challenging fight.
Legendary - An extremely good, back-and-forth, once-in-a-century Epic fight.

(Yes, I skip over Epic)

Roleplaying:
We roleplay like any other, primarily in the Dragon Isles, expressing no more power than a typical adventurer or an explorer. Any perceived power comes from skill and tactics.

Roleplaying consists of casual RP among ourselves, interacting with other Dragon Isle roleplayers, trying to peddle our wares in major cities, and whatever a group of relic-seeking bloodhunters might do.

Rules

In General:
• Be a decent human being.
• Chill, it is a game.

PvP Related:
• Be good sports about it.
• Laugh at your failures, celebrate your successes.
• Do not Chain-gank. Kill once, move on. If re-engagement is had, it is by their initiative.
• No disrespectul conduit towards your felled enemy, T-bagging, spitting or flags of thumbs down.

RP Related:
• Do not go to Goldshire or the K-18 section of Silvermoon. (if that’s a thing?)
• Do not force your emotes upon others. Leave them open-ended.
• Do not claim to be more than you can prove in PvP. Keep your power grounded in the in-game mechanics. (at least, by the most part)

Disclaimer:
I made this guild primarily for myself. This is my choosen form of gameplay, and how I choose to spend my limited time in the game (alongside light PvP and PvE). If others find it interesting, they’re welcome to join. If the guild evolves beyond being an One-Man-Show, then this thread may be revised further.

Best regards,

─ Skarain / Inran / Nakris (of Defias Brotherhood)

Contact: Send ingame mail to Yinthraz (Horde) or add to friend and poke when I am online. Mail is recommended since I do not play daily.

Nice one. The wpvp-part reminds me off Venomspine Pariahs in the early phase at Defias. Good luck with this one :slightly_smiling_face:

This is very interesting, best of luck!!

Thanks. The expansion has been very WPvP friendly so far.

There are plenty of reasons for people to be out in the world and interact, so you are not shy on people to engage. Although everyone has access to flying, you can’t “hover” with Dragonriding, so even people iddling do so on a tall cliff, quest hub or other location in the world.

I suspect this expansion will be very good for unrestricted RP-WPvP Campaigns. Since PvP gear scales in open world to the PvP Ilvl the moment you engage in PvP, you’ll have a very easy time gearing Roleplayers. Upgrading the gear in ranks only increases the PvE ilvl, so it is not too steep of a time commitment to attain basic PvP gear.

Naturally there will be a slight gap between full Honor and full Conquest, but that’s how it’s always been.

Not to mention the World PvP item set with its unique set bonuses.

The future looks bright for us. My only regret is that I don’t have enough time to organize unrestricted RP-PvP Campaigns myself at the moment. Maybe in the future. Those are always good fun.

Yeeees.

This looks/sounds like a cool take on involving yourselves in the WPVP scene while still upholding the tenets of the roleplaying spirit. It’s perfect for the Dragon Isles, especially considering we have background characters encouraging a bit of scrapping.

Good luck with this, and maybe I’ll run into you out there!

Any Dracthyr or guild that promote the faction conflict, even if they are dirty Horde artifact thieves, get my undying support.

Keep up the good work and hopefully we’ll maul each other in the future!

Awesome!
Do you guys know if there is the same type of guild in the Alliance side?
I miss the old unrestricted RP-PvP campaigns from MOP :frowning: I wish these were back

As far as I know, there are none. Before the creation of my guild, I tried my best to scour Argent Dawn forums and Argentarchives for guilds, using “world pvp” and its variants as the search word. I found none that advertise theirs as such.

This guild was initially concepted to be an Alliance guild, with a slogan such as “When ‘it belongs in the museum!’ is taken one notch too far…”, some over-eager archaeologists outright stealing from other excavations and explorers.

However, the Warmode faction balance is heavily in Alliance favour. About 90% people on RP servers play Alliance, and it shows. Without premade raid groups, there are always more Alliance players by World PvP objectives than Horde.

As a result, I made this guild on the Horde. It does bar us accessing the largest RP hubs, but on the flipside we won’t run out of people to engage.
