If you queue a yellow attack as warrior, your offhand has a better hit chance. It was removed in forever and I want to argue for this mechanic to come back.
- Developers of Classic WoW fixed a lot of mechanics from Vanilla. They stated explicitly that HS queuing is intended to stay though. So if it ever entered as a bug, it has been considered a mechanic since Classic.
- Warriors are supposed to be good at Cleaving according to the forever devs. But with rage normalization, you can fall into rage starvation very quickly after pressing cleave 2-3 times and missing with your offhand even if you play perfectly. (This means you are now AFK for some time) The biggest Problem: Forever does currently not offer any solution to this problem. HS / Cleave queuing reduces the amount of times this happens significantly, if your hit chance for example is soft-capped. Hence it makes warriors a slightly more reliable dps class, if you invest some stats into it. (We are already the most unreliable dmg source because our hit chance influences our rage)
- This is a slight and easy skill check. If you press HS or Cleave not before your (fast) offhand hits, you lose rage on average. This increases the APM of a warrior significantly and has been an essential part of the fury-warrior-feeling in raids.
- On lvl 20-30 you have little buttons to press and not enough rage. Queuing / Unqueuing is a solid way to get a bit more rage and level more fluently in the most tedious level range for warriors. It is not required though, so players who don’t like it, don’t have to use it.
- Last but not least. Quite some people have never played wow expansions after wotlk, me included. So since I touched this game in 2004, in all of the 9 Classic-ish iterations below, this has always been a mechanic for warriors. For 22 years now. It’s baked into every classic warrior’s head, that you press HS quick enough, before your offhand hits.
