Huge latency spikes every several minutes

Another question for you - could you post WinMTR from your “working” location? As it was posted before - there are several nodes that causes issues, maybe we could narrow them down to avoid them using VPNs (like only connect to locations that do not have “br01-eqam1” in routing table

Thanks again

I’m not an OP, but I have a WinMTR trace using mobile data (Plus Poland), it doesn’t have “br01-eqam1” node (and I have no issues when I play using mobile data):

Just as @Nulesmurt above said: using mobile data via usb tethering, there’s no “br01” node on the way, and no issue at all. Steady 50 ms, no matter what. At home, at work (same city, different ISP), and at my parents’ the issue remains unchanged. The 3 people I know irl also have the exact same issue - since last month - and just stopped playing.

Thing is - while using mobile data (a2mobile) I am still being routed thru faulty nodes :v
I am currently looking at using VPNs, so far using recognizable VPN service that starts with letter “N” still points you to that faulty host IF using PL/DE/NL as country of origin. Denmark is avoiding that host and I will play/test today using this location to see eif it helps

Still, I shouldnt minmax VPN to play a game that I pay month by month - this needs to be fixed ASAP

I use the recognisable VPN that starts with the letter “N” and I used yesterday PL for entire day and had a beautiful 37 ms all the time. With Denmark it was also stable 50 ms all the time. Germany was same as Denmark for me.

I will try to post the winMTR later as you asked.

Yesterday I finally messed up with VPN and I switched to few servers, while having ping into one of the WoW ip in the background all the time.
So whenever my ping has the no response for “few” pings, latency go up in WoW and I experience packet loss. If it’s a single no response, game seems fine to me. Well, anyway, I tested few servers and not every worked good, but I found few that work well and one of them was from Netherlands (which also gave me lower ping than what I usually had with my own ISP)
Game played nice, no issues whole time, well, maybe except for 2 or 3 times where I had the “Instance abort” error and it kicked me into “previous” zone when I was flying and changing zones xD But it is apparently an issue that can happen when using VPN. Only in outdoor zones for me.
Today I have some weird problems with connecting to the bnet friend list, it disconnects and so on - but my ping and tracerroute IS FINE. The address ae1-br01-eqfr5.as57976.net have no packet loss (yet). Coincidence? Regardless of all of that, VPN solved the problem before and as soon as I get the packet loss on my ISP today, I’ll switch back to it :stuck_out_tongue:
So atm I am connecting to the game without vpn.

I will just add to that, that the DE servers were still faulty for me but NL avoid the faulty nodes, at least in the vpn that I use.

Managed to do 2 keys yesterday without any hiccups. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, ready to alt+f4 and slam my pc shut. It was such a refreshing experience, I almost forgot how it feels to be able to play for 20 minutes without a dc.
Man, I sure hope it doesn’t come back ;_;

Yeah, back to the drawing board. Still the same problem… I’m so tired of this. Another key broken, and at this rate I’ll be on everyone’s blacklist.

It’s not fixed guys. The VPN is only solution, but need to be checking with WinMRT or tracerroute in the CMD from windows, if it skips the faulty nodes related to GoDaddy :stuck_out_tongue: And if it does, just stick to that server for the remaining day (set it/forget it, 30sec top)
I would like to mention that the GoDaddy is a massive platform, on top of that it has a very good rating on the https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.godaddy.com website. People basically say that they help instantly whenever they are getting in touch with the customer service. Nearly 100k reviews with 4.7/5 rating, thats amazing.
Why am I mentioning this? It’s clear what is the problem here, what is unclear is why Blizzard, who basically has half of their assets being routed thru this platform, isn’t able to help us, by figuring it out with them. I was looking at the policy over there and they have lines available 24/7.

Lastly, I will add, that I play with ping command in the background and those are the results when I am connected for a long time and play via VPN:

Ping statistics for 185.60.112.158:
Packets: Sent = 17242, Received = 17217, Lost = 25 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 68ms, Maximum = 130ms, Average = 72ms

This is a very good result, done over 4h of playing. I like this ip address, as it helps me figure out how my current standings are with stable gaming  Whenever I don’t have VPN and there is no reply from this ip address, I experience packet loss and delays in game.
There are 2 more IP addresses suggested by Support webstie for WoW, but they don’t give me clear picutre of what is going on. 185.60.112.157 and 185.60.114.159, altho the last one is a curious one, it appears it goes around and skip GoDaddy. But oh well. Why am I even trying to figure this out?

When I stop using VPN and use my own ISP, trust my words, packet loss is around 6-8% and game is unplayable. But Im so done hoping and testing at this point, I will stop here.
Radio silence from Blizzard is at it’s peak.

Yeah, VPN works. But to be real: we buy expansions, pay for subscription, and now we have to pay for VPN, to use the service we pay for. That’s… a bit messed up.

Blizz has chosen to remain silent and hope the issue will resolve on its own… I hope, but I imagine they don’t even care about it at all.

i dont have these issues so it must be between you and the servers which blizzard can’t do anything about :sunglasses:

Dude you act strange, you dont have a problem so you talk to the rest thats their fault.
On different topic you also plays advocate and say its not blizzard fault.

The issue is real for many others and we are looking for help but all you say is “git good”

Thats childish

that is your opinion but i am just trying to help but i am so sorry that my answers dosent suit you at all.
you basicly dont bring any data and basicly just shows a traceroute as that will solve the problem but you are just hating on blizzard and blaming them for the issue since that is the only thing you can do.
what about you try to call your ISP and see if they can see anything you cant do?
basicly just try to go with common sense instead.
i dont blame you for anything at all but as i see it the issue dosent go away and since blizzard dosent control the entire internet then they cant do what you want them to do and since you post on this forum i assumed you wanted help but i guess not since you basicly dont provide any info at all except “blizzard fix my internet” but that is like calling a car mechanic saying “my car wont drive fix it”.
but since you dont want help i just stop replying to you.

YOU ARE NOT TRYING TO HELP, most of us is after the personal ISP talks and we presented traceroutes here and in different topic, forums.

Yea first time you suggested something like calling our ISP please go destroy other topics

I quote your help
“i dont have these issues so it must be between you and the servers which blizzard can’t do anything about :sunglasses:

AND POSTING TRACEROUTE ALONE DOSENT HELP AT ALL.
what about you posting some more details about your system and ISP before asking for help but i guess that is way to hard for you so go back to play LoL toxic kid.

Yeah ignorance is bliss.

People already put down all necessary data to place a support ticked with all blizzard requirements and you act like a specialist. Your talking doesnt bring anything to the topic exepct your words
“i dont have these issues so it must be between you and the servers which blizzard can’t do anything about :sunglasses:

ye you really talk like you have the experience og being ignorant since you only posted traceroute which isnt enough to tell you what is going on since none of us here have talked to your ISP since you never told us and further more you nmever posted your pc specs at all so gz kid.
furthermore what about you posting some more info instead so you actually could get help instead of just a traceroute?
and just FYI and have build PC for over 30 years now so yes i have some experience but according to you i am ignorant so go find help elsewhere.,

Your personal comments about me “gz kid” says more about you then me.
Stop spamming in a topic that all you can offer to is:
