The cannon story or following the events of the game the player character is :-
A recruit, you start off small helping around and become an adventurer for your faction, youâre not a soldier but rather someone who they send on a mission.
Through the years the player character was always there in the background during big events, supposedly you were part of the joint horde-alliance army under saurfang against Câthun, you were also part of the punitive force taking down illidan, and was sent as an elite task force to take down the lich king, only to have bolvar solo him.
During cataclysm the player characters start becoming abit more famous, as you travel with admiral taylor/nazgrim, and in MoP you basically become a hero. and then assumed a commander from WoD on.
