Human warrior's story

Hi all!

I would like to ask some help again! If I get answer for my question it might be a spoiler for new players like me, so if you are not interested pls stop reading! So, I am a human warrior in the game and I got a lvl 110 boost from the game when I purchased. I reached lvl 120 in 2 or 3 days.

Because I skipped many of my leveling missions I would like to ask for some help about my character background story. So, who is the human warrior? Am I a lonely adventurer who just happens to always be in the right place to save the world when danger comes, or am I an official member of the alliance army? Obviously I fight for the alliance, but I am dying in curiousity that I am a member of their armed forces, a hired mercenary or just an adventurer.

You are who you want to be! You can be a mercenary who is paid by the alliance to fight for them or you can be a soldier who is doing is duty!

It’s an RPG, role play whatever you want.

So, does it mean that there is no any reference for my character’s background in the game? There is only what I imagine and how I play the character?

Well there is the stormwind human start zone that gives some story/lore for your race but not for your class really.

You can google WoW (race) lore and find some good background reading. The story of anduins mother and how she died for instance.

As for your character, well you can roleplay him however you want.

Basically yes you are who you want to be it’s an RPG after all you probably played other MMOs that have each character explanation what their purpose is and what they all are AION comes to mind.

For example this is my alt character I imagine I am Lagertha shield maiden and I see her as a strong viking woman that’s here to save Azeroth.

Damn bro, Lagertha was hawt! This representation doesn’t do her justice!

Well yes but I can’t race change now it’s too late .

That’s better than mine! Nefaryas is a void addict who was cast out from her people and forced to join the alliance then fight in a pointless war where she had to do everything and is really bitter about it, and she never got her share of the treasure from that dodgy bloke in stormsong valley!!!

Trust me your sounds much better because it’s wow related mine I took from the viking series and only added Azeroth part :joy: so don’t worry your sounds much better my friend because it sticks to wow lore and Lagertthha is my alt that I am playing with as we speak.

Do you mean the story of before you hit 110? Your character has technically helped in the fight against Illidan in Outland, Arthas in Northrend, Deathwing throughout Azeroth and Garrosh Hellscream in Pandaria/Orgrimmar.

At this point people started calling you a champion because of all your feats (I’m not sure if your character has actually killed these bosses lorewise or if you just fought against them in smaller ways, such as through quests, I assume that part is up to you).

After this you fought the against the Iron Horde and then the Legion in Draenor and continued to fight the Legion in the Broken Isles (after fighting them once before in Outland) and during the fight in the Broken Isles, your Warrior became the Battlelord of Skyhold. During BfA you’re both a champion and high ranking soldier of the Alliance, you’re definitely not a nobody anymore.

After the BfA War campaign you become a veteran of the fourth war, giving your character more fame and credibility.

For what you did before level 1, that’s up to you.

I think that’s how it goes anyway, anyone is welcome to correct me and sorry for such a long winded answer.

pretty much what @Dranaio said

the lore is deep, you did a lotta things to be called the “Hero” and the “Champion”

as a new player you need to know the lore of previews expansions and what was your part in it if you want to know more of who you are

You need to imagine what is the background of your character’s family and go from there.

Are your parents part of the Stormwind nobility that, back in the day, created quite an issue and still today wait for king Anduin demise? Were they owners of one of the small shops in the market square? Or your heritage lines back to when Lordaeron was inhabited by the living?

I, for one, know that my character is venturing at the end of the world to see if there is a worgen cure. Being the only child of a wealthy Gilneas family he could afford studies and trinkets, and when he dabbled in pact magic eventually got infected during of the nights out patrolling the streets during the Forsaken siege. He thinks he got punished for his demonic power, as if he was forced to pay a price for it, although there is no proven connection between the two events.

Just be a boring human

If this answers your question… I heard characters of the lore use to treat you(the players in general) as a random adventure passing by who just happens to come and help. These days from what i have seen the player is more like an admired champion respected and responsible for the success of big missions, basically you are an elite soldier higher than even some elites but bellow all main lore character. To put in perspective the difference of power its needed an entire raid(players) plus zandalari top soldiers just to hold back someone like Jaina Proudmoore.

The Humans where the youngest race in Azeroth quickly establishing kingdoms all over the eastern Kingdoms.
Now only Stormwind remains as the rest is destroyed. Yes Kul’Tiras came back eventually, so i guess there are two.

When you are Level 1 you are a simple man, a common man, ( not RP) and you venture out into the world in search of glory. Your Joureny caused your death, you died a horrible death against vile creatures of epic proportion, probably Murloc’s. It is then you find out your soul is immortal and a spirit healer keeps sending you back to your corpse. Or it can even rebuild your body, at a cost.

From there on the Simple human became, somewhat, of a hero to the alliance. Solving problems allover the Kingdoms and Beyond.
You destroyed the Scourge in the plagued land. You saved redridge from Gnoll and Orc invaders. You rescued the poor people of Elwynn and westfall from the defias, a problem created by the nobility of stormwind,

And from there on after your name became known in the Alliance.
When they ventured to outland, after the scarabs and stuff where defeated, they called upon you to find out what happend with the expedition. THey put YOU on the frontlines during the invasion of Northrend. And as your name and fame grew so did your hero status. When the Cataclysm started the Alliance leadership did not hesitate and send you into the world to find out what happend and how to stop it.
And it doesnt end there.
Your Glory, Your hero status came after Pandaria, when YOU saved Prince Anduin from certain death at the hands of the Vile horde. And when the invasion of Draenor had to begin you where given the command of a Garrison.

A Wonderfull decision because, yet again, you saved an entire world from doom and destruction. As the dust of draenor settled the Legion invades azeroth, but only like one zone so it was kinda dull, and yet again you stood at the front… you know where i am going with this.

Humans, Dwarves Gnomes, Elves All of them where simple, normal people finding out they where special and their fame and fortune grew within the alliance.

Now in BFA You are a Champion of the Alliance, A hero, A saviour, a Legendary. And they adress you as such calling you Champion everywhere you go. Everyone knows your name because you are the Legendary Heimdarm!.

As for RP You get to make your own choice. But this is a bit how things worked out

This always confuses me with allied races, we are recruited into the timeline after legions ending and are lvl 20, Anduin is on the throne and we are common people as you say but have to go through events that have happened in the past :confounded:

You can choose whatever you want to be honest.
If you start Bfa questing you become ‘Champions of Azeroth’. You can always write your backstory though.

I give you an example of a mage character: (beware, some grammar mistakes ahead)

And so on.

If you want to create your character story be creative, read the lore and imagine who your warrior is.

In Shadowlands that’ll all be fixed with a simple “Chromie did it” magic.

You can do whatever you want.
That your parents were veterans in wars before, that you were a smith’s apprentice but was sick of not going to battle, that after many defeats you managed to become stronger and overwhelm your foes, that before the plague your family lived in Tirisfal Glades in a settlement, etc etc…
Im currently rolling an Undead Mage, how do my powers exist?
I was a renowned Kirin Tor Human who died, but I still kept my powers.
Something along those lines.
