Hunter’s Mark in M+

Hunter’s Mark should be automatically applied to everything we attack just like Chaos Brand and Mystic Touch. This would make it a lot more relevant for M+ and still not overpowered in any way.

I think Hunter’s Mark needs a rework in general, the first 10% of a bosses HP vanishes pretty quickly thanks to potions, hero etc,

It needs to do something different.

yes, it is badly designed as it is. In my opinion though, it should work in excecute range rather than on high health enemies.

sort of a ‘‘hey team ! this target i marked is low ! , help me finish him !’’
so the huge arrow above the enemy works to draw the attention to the marked enemy and cause it to take more damage from everyone.

max one target at a time, but possibly make it apply passively instead of manually. but still with the ability to swap to another target manually if desired.

I think if we keep “max one target at a time”, even with automatic application and swap from above 80% health application to below 30%/20% health the hunter’s mark effect will be very marginal, bording to the point of being pointless, especially on fortified weeks. Remember that unlike in raids, trash mobs play the equal if not more important role in m+. So far it’s not even worth use global cooldown of hunter mark on trash, unless it’s fortified week and you are dealing with a mini boss.

Otherwise I agree with all 3 of you guys and here are my thoughts on the possible rework of hunter’s mark with 2 options:

  1. Remove Hunter’s Mark damage effect and give us instead passive ability -
Expose Weakness: your special abilitiies critical strikes on the target below 50% apply a debuff that increases all damage they take by 3% for 10 seconds. The debuff doesn’t stack and doesn’t have internal cooldown, new critical strikes will simply refresh the debuff on the target.

  2. Remove Hunter’s Mark damage effect and give us instead new ability -
Precision Aura - your Aimed Shot / Barbed Shot / Mangoose Bite critical strikes inspire your group, by granting them 2-3% mastery for 10-15 seconds. Or simply make it a contant buff.
Seems a bit too OP? Remember that Druids have permament 3% versatility buff, priest permament 5% health buff, pallies permament 3% damage reduction buff.

Feel free to critique and give your own amendments to the idea.

Given BM is losing master marksman (it’s going to the MM tree) this might help recover that somewhat?
