Same here, but probably for different reasons : I don’t actually like Raiding, I can tolerate M+ Dungeons because I must get in there to get mostly decent gear, but my biggest pleasure is actually hunting with my Hunter in the open world.
And yes indeed, PUGhell refuses Hunters as a routine, because there are so many classes and specs that can do the same things, but better.
Minor expection for the Incorporeal affix, because we can’t deal with it in 2 seconds without losing anything.
I think that the people that replied “the Hunter, at the moment, is a very bad class” were mistaken though, it’s not a bad class, it’s the other specs that are way too good.
I have problems getting in +12 keystones to farm Crests, while I have those timed in +3 with the same affixes, just because most of the PUGhell population play the DPS meter instead of actually trying to counter the mechanics.
Brute force works, up to a point, and when it fails, it’s spectacular.
I have not been able to actually get into a +16, not even talking above +20, but strangely the higher the keystone the higher my damage climbs (very simple reason for that : I need a rather long ramp up to reach peak damage potential with 3 Stacks of Frenzy and the like, and in lower keys there are simply not enough HPs left in the packs for me to blast when I finished boosting my Familiars), but I’m often either first or second in damage done, and stupidly enough I’ve found myself the last survivor cleaning thrash packs and rezzing the rest of the group with my engi gadgets too many times to count.
YES, it cannot be said enough, the Hunter class and all three specs need a massive boost or a total rework, and the überperformer need to be brought down, not because I want that, but because it’s better for the game as a whole.
