Hunter is the Ultimate Gigachad class, change my mind

My main was a Hunter during entire BfA and SL. I always found it kinda fun and solo-friendly, but eventually, around the start of DF, I become tired of pet overload in BM, tilted big time after being steamrolled by melees in WPvP while trying to gather rousing ire from ores, and jumped on Monk, spending entirety of DF mostly in SS. I invested a lot in this Monk – in professions, renown, quests, getting PhD in WW/BM rotations yada yada yada.

And then recently I revisited my Hunter.

And oh. My. Lord.

I never thought how REALLY Hunters are ahead of all other classes in every term.

  • Turtle and FD are completely broken abilities in terms that allows you to bypass so many deadly situations that you don’t even realize;
  • This class is literally designed for solo farming. Both of the above, plus personal tank. Plus Camo allowing to bypass a lot of mob packs straight to the boss. Plus Barrage letting you to wipe half of the zone on a short CD.
  • Speaking of solo farming, here comes Speed: with speedset and all the buffs combined (Pathfinding, Posthaste, Trailblazer, Cheetah) Hunter is possibly the fastest class in the game, bypassing Druid (some may say it’s arguable, but just to remind – Cheetah CD resets per boss fight, giving a Hunter free zoom per kill);
  • This class is nearly perfect for weapon tmog farming. The only one above them is Warrior, but consider the speed. Plus, all the arsenal of ranged weapons is designed exclusively for Hunters since Cata. Plus Rae’shalare. Plus Thori’dal. Bonus points for borderline legendary weapons like the corruption gun from N’Zoth or Neltharax;
  • The variety of pets and the mini-games connected to them is unmatched in terms of class fantasy, compared to other classes. For sure there are some sort of mandatory cases (like Reban for PvP), but otherwise you have entire personal Zoo. Other classes like Warlocks and Druids are far more limited even now with a lot of new customizations;
  • BM is the easiest spec in the game by a mile. Sometimes I think it’s really possible to put the general rotation in one single macro, put it on mouse button and outperform WWs kung-fuing their Hans Zimmer’s rotation while still having a free hand for beer. Both MM and SV are not the hardest too;
  • By the way, every race is allowed to be a Hunter, allowing some perks that other farm classes doesn’t have (e.g. DID indoor speed bonus or Vulpera’s Camp).

Objectively, the only things that Hunters are missing to become an absolute unit are second role for faster regs and the ability to wear maces.

And it’s not even the «why they’re allowed to have so much» kind of rant post. I am genuinely happy that they have all this stuff. I just honestly envy and wish other classes could have so much useful stuff.

…and after writing down all this stuff from head to screen, I think it’s time to just sit on this class, farm all the stuff with a speed of light and never look back. Sacrificing WM confidence and 1 hour of AFK for the godsent QoL pack seems like a fair trade to me.

I do love Hunter but Demo Locks are my go to for solo stuff.

for me its all above the casting when moving. thats why i have been playing BM for years now with brief S4 of SL adventure of my 2nd hunter as survival

i wish mages and warlocks / ele shamans had the saame mobility as BM hunter :stuck_out_tongue:

Imo, the most complete class is the druid, apart from an immune and a BL, he has everything (best mobility, long-lasting invisibility, protection against falls, instant range aoe spam without constraint, tanking spec for big pack and elites, a lot of utility for the HL content…).

Then come the paladin, the mage and the hunter, each of these classes being very complete and having almost all abilities too, but a notch below the druid.

Based on my experience hunters are superior in one field, only occadionally outdone by their special cousin: Demon hunters.

They have the unparalleled ability to inspect the floor, regardless what content they do.

They also have great utility, but they usually just end up clicking auto cast on pet taunt and throw arrows at their problems to go away.

Restore minimum range for hunters and we’ll see if people still think they’re good

Ah yes, I remember that :smiley:

(my first character was a Hunter). Actually made people use wing clip, to get away to get back into their range to shoot.

Until the Hunter gets a double pistol spec, it can never be a complete class.

once you go Hunter you never go back

TOMRUS in disguise?

“Gigachad”… my soul from my previous life just cringed.

Best class for Tmog farm indeed, no issue with CM or specific mechanics requiring distance.

Pretty sure with TWW, most people will have multiple hunters for Tmog run since we will be able to transfer the gear within the warband.

i mained an hunter in SL and sincerely i find it … boring (BM). dunno why. Now she’s in zm to farm proto things.
And about the mogs… nah. 0. priest is the king. with plates after and shammy shor behind.
