Hunter lack of self healing

10% leech from pet is a joke. Every class has better and more ways than us. I talk about Bm btw.
Its a problem in pvp. Also give some pet some aoe taunt, that would be great and make sense.

Doesn’t hurt to give some suggestions, for example the extra healing could be

  • Additional leech while coordinated assault is active
  • Turn Exhilaration into a HoT but on a shorter cooldown

As for AOE taunt… I don’t think it’s really needed. Hunters don’t have a tank spec, so single target taunt is fine.

I meant a taunt like warlock´s voidwalker it has an aoe taunt and it does help for farming, I know we got misdirection but doesnt work that nicely with really big pulls. Im just jealous lol.
Regarding healing and specially in PVP we do have issues and I do like your ideas.
BM does need some love…

Not entirely sure what the problem with AoE threat is as youre playing as BM.

Use MD for the initial pull to round up the mobs. Continue with multi-shot for beast cleave and your pet will grab everything with ease.

Sure, MD doesn’t last very long but if you want to pull additional mobs after it has run out, make sure you save Kill Command along with a Barbed Shot charge or two.

Those two will allow your pet to stay ahead and deal the majority of the damage.

Once kill command is used along with Barbed shot charges, just finish of any remaining mobs. Loot them all and then go from the beginning with another MD pull.
And repeat the cycle.

As I said i was just thinking of warlocks pet. It is really smooth. But you got it right, we dont really need it.
The PVP problems are very real though…
And I dont want to go survival cant feel it.

missdirect to pet + multishot (or barrage if you’re brave/in a scenario it suits) will pull everything you need to your pet. I use the MD/barrage + iris combo in islands and it works a treat.

Self healing isn’t an issue if you have a spirit beast as most of the time spirit mend heals you enough + exhilaration for an instant HP hit.

havent a clue whats best for PVP as i dont do it but for PVE MD and a spirit beast will solve most of the issues you have.

Did you see Arms warrior recently?

You can do RANGED rotation by walking, no need to stop, and you want healing?
Did you ever use First Aid Bandage?
You have 10% free leech, do more damage so you will heal better.
Spirit Beast has Spirit Mend HoT which heals quite alot.

Why do everyone is using phrase “every class has it better than mine” ?
It looks like you’re kid and you’re crying to mom “Mom, all my friends got something, i want that too bwaah”.

Just FYI Leech is only on the ferocity pets. Sprit beast gives us a larger hp pool.
However i agree with your sentiment that people should not use every class has better then us.

But also hunters are on the low end when it comes to defansive things.
And At the moment hunters are having the issue that all 3 specs are not doing well in raids and we kinda do not have anything to compansate for it.

We are not the worst but we are not looking good.

Yeah, i wrote that as an alternative not addition.

Why do you need self heals? Better give us more reliable kiting / escape mechanism.

And lol@ hunters not being good in PvE. There’s always a hunter in a top 3 in my raid group. And hunters are Very good in M+

I mean you are ranged class. Kinda that’s the point . Like mage or warlock who are pure dps casters they have one defensive and one or two smaller since as well like hunter

Exactly, however this rabbit hole goes deeper beacuse warriors for example and in fact all melee have SO many effective short CD gap closers compared to ranges escapes/kitig abilities.

Death knights have absurd self healing
By tapping death strike (spammable) onto your pet or any mob around it. While thematically this makes sense and i am ok with it as a mechanic

Frost mage can be exempt on the kiting ossue as they are 100% fine in that regard.

So this isnt going deep into classes i am just highligghting a kiters frustrtion where its got.to a point if you dont have enough self healing then its extreamly tougb and this goes for all classes.

My opinion? Strip DPS classes of self healing completely and make gap closers meaningful but a lot more infrequent however go combat the obvious “world of rangecraft” gove some more defenses to range only abilites on an active CD, probably keep deathknights as they are as the whole theme is blood death etc, demin hunters are only OP when they can cleave mobs down etc

Warcraftlogs tells a different story what it tells me is that you most likely have good hunters but the rest is just average.

Your class is a glasscannon, yet you got pet heal, ex & pet leech

I’d say you have enough ^^

You can not have these things at the same time as this depends on the pet and the pet family

I play marksman so excuse me, i thought spirit mend & pet leech was on the same pet?

Spirit beasts are in the tank family of pets.
To get leech you need what would be the old dps family of pets (the ones with Bloodlust)

What really? i always thought Spirit beasts were dps

Shows what i know

Well all pets do the same damage these days so that might be why you think that.
The pet “family” only changes what abilities it can have.

Interesting, never checked that.

I like how the classes/specs that get complained constantly as being OP and needing a nerf are at the mid to bottom of the list
