I reported it, got this response.

(LMAO)

Game Master XXXX here! Hope you’re doing well today. I see that you ticketed in about not being able to raise the loyalty level of your Hunter’s pet and I can definitely look into this.

In my research, I was able to verify that there are no known issues with Hunter pets in Classic WoW at the moment. I highly recommend searching on some of the community sites like Wowhead for more info on Hunter pets. There are always a ton of helpful hints and comments that can point you in the right direction.

I had the same problem, until I found out that my pet became “picky” in terms of diet.
So if I buy high level meat like roasted quill, the royalty improves immediately. If I feed it raptor meat, it seems to take a lot of feeding sessions.
Don’t know if that’s a bug though (didn’t play hunter back in the days) and I’m kind of a noob.

I had a hunter during tbc, pets have their preferred food, you should be able to see what in the pet window.

cat + lvl 60 meat + 10 hours of grinding rugged leather in winterspring on 58-60 mobs = no loyalty increase…

This is definitely bugged, I tamed a new lvl60 cat when my hunter hit 60, kept it “happy” all the time while running around killing a lot of frostsabers, it’s still at loyalty 1. I had to go back to my former pet, I can only assume this will go away when exp is unlocked again… (only to return at 70?)

Exactly this. Sadly blizzard is not aware, how can they not know this?..

Hmm. I tamed a level 59 owl about two days ago, which was still loyalty level 1 when it hit 60, and now it is level 4 (after a lot of dead mobs, though).

But if you did what you posted your cat definitely should have had an increase in loyalty by now, yeah… Many posters are talking about level 60 cats specifically in that thread as well. Something might by up with that. :o

Yeah seems like 59 or lower pets dó gain, but 60 tamed = nope, no chance.
