Hunter pet loyalty

Seem to be bugged got son of hakkar and been farming mobs and completeing some high level quest but it still is lvl 1. Anyone else have this issue?

Perhaps it’s the case that the sleeper must awaken?

Has it gone “floom” at all? at 60 they get their points from the happiness, which you get from killing stuff, as you know.

Just keep it fed and happy.

Pretty sure it’s bugged. I kept it happiness in green and killed some 50+ mobs and completed 3 quests so it should have got to at least level 2.

I don’t think that quests improve happiness but the kills certainly should have, my last pet, though it was at 38, gained a happiness level after abut 20 kills.

Maybe it scales up so you have to kill more.

Your pet requires 10% of your levels exp per happiness level and a certain period of time I can’t remember…but it was below 3 hours per level
You probably just haven’t hit the exp required within 3 quests and some mobs

I did check it’s 5% of current lvl exp and no time for lvl 2 so yeah my pet should have reached at least lvl 2 loyalty. You start to need time on lvl 3 with still 5% exp. I think the issue is i am not getting any exp as max level wich shouldn’t happen.

Yes it’s a bug. I’m experiencing it as well. Spent the entire last week with my new pet and its loyalty level hasn’t risen yet.
In the US forums this was reported as a bug but so far no blue post about it. Was allegedly already reported during TBC beta.

Well good that it is reported on US forums since it seems Blue posters are lot more active there.

Does blizzard play their own game? How can they not spot this stuff

Pets get NO xp from quests. Also, once the pet is the same level as you gains no XP. Why always best to get a pet 3-4 levels lower than you are.

It’s bugged. Go to pet trainer and untrain the pet, then retrain Growl. Fixes it 100%, still a bug though.
