Hunter died during quest “Ritual Recovery”, during levelling on the WotLK timeline. After resurrecting, summon pet button displayed message “You do not have a pet to summon”. Resurrect pet button displayed message “Your pet is not dead”. I returned to Razor Hill stable master. My pet was displayed as “Active”. I stabled it and made it active again - no effect. Now I can tame a pet, but if I dismiss it I cannot summon it again, although it appears in the stable as active. I exited game and deleted WTF and cache folders. No effect. I have not installed any addons. In this state the character is not playable.

to be clear, the toon is completely broken. It cannot summon any of its pets. They can all be viewed in the stable, and they can be stabled and made active. But the summon pet button just says “you do not have a pet”. This all began when I died (with pet out) and resurrected in the “Ritual Recovery” quest on echo isles. I have deleted the toon and rolled another with its name (I wanted to keep the name), and got a level 70 boost for it. So all this is just for info in case anyone wants to look at the code.
