Yeah, the more I think the more I like it.
The main thing stopping me from playing MM is that Rapid Fire animation. It’s an eyesore of note.
I’d try MM with the changes if it was more mobile.
I can’t give up the mobility of BM, it’s the entire reason I play the spec. Even if they nerfed BM into the ground I’d still main it for the mobility. If they reduce the mobility one day I’ll probably quit.
I have 14 max level BM Hunters lol
Seriously? Why so many?
Just built up over time. I run Hellfire Citadel with them each week for raw gold and they are split between an alliance server and a horde server.
lol now i dont feel as bad for having 3
was thinking of getting another one
mm changes are nowhere near enough for respecc
I’ve been playing Classic since launch so I’m quite used to static MM right now but I can’t get over how bad Rapid Fire animation is… If it looked like normal arrows sure I’d be on board with it.
I’m not saying they don’t have any mobility, but BM has full mobility.
I wasnt able to log into the ptr since forever, it said world server is down. But just now I was able to log into the ptr(before it was closed again 3 minutes later).
For MM hunters, what I found out was…
TL&DR in the end.
Arcane shot tooltip says 898 damage and chimera says 736 damage per target. This shouldnt be; because arcane shot deals 60% attack power arcane damage and chimera shot deals 79% attack power nature/frost damage. Chimera shot should deal more damage even if its only 1 target. I got the tooltips from https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/talent-calc/hunter/marksmanship
https://ptr.wowhead.com/spell=53209/chimaera-shot
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/spell=185358/arcane-shot
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/spell=321287/true-aim
My mastery was 28.8%.
I think its mastery AND the true aim passive MM hunters have. I think both of these affect arcane shot whereas chimera shot is probably buggy and isnt affected by either.
True aim increases the damage of arcane shot and multishot by 25%.
So lets try. If we assume 898 is the buffed damage; and if we exclude the buffs, then arcane shot’s damage becomes 557.
If we go ahead and do the math;
557 / 60 x 79 = 734
And this is almost the exact number chimera shot tooltip says, which was 736.
TL&DR: Arcane shot is affected by mastery and true aim, while chimera shot isnt(it should be).
Hunter is done as a good class yes, maybe some changes still to come. I have had a Hunter for 7 years as a main. Shadowlands has forced me to switch
Not super excited for Shadow Lands to be honest. Looks like all they have done is give us back spells we had in the first place and add more time to revive pet. Yay… /s
