Hunters being forced into identities with the new Hero Talents

I play a Human Marksmanship Hunter in retail, and with Hero Talents I can choose to be a Sentinel, or a Dark Ranger… two distinctly race-based trees, either Nightelf or Forsaken(elf)

Dark Ranger summons Death Hounds, while the Sentinel summons a spirit owl that calls down lunar beams…

Where’s the Robin Hood hero talent? the “I’m just a guy with a gun”?

What gives, Blizz? :frowning: I don’t see the other hero talents being so heavily skewed towards one race… I play on a roleplay server for a reason, I take this very seriously, how the aesthetics of my class comes across heavily impacts how likely I am to play it.

I guess you can be a guy with a gun who had a nelf friend that he lost and took over the spirit owl when she died, or one decided it liked you and simply won’t bugger off.

Nothing prevent you to roleplay as a guy with gun
Do you RP during PvE or PvP content where your skills are relevant and you actually use them?

I mean I totally understand it. As an Orc, I feel I can only go Pack Leader. Sure, I could have learnt some tricks from my dark ranger pals or picked up on sentinel skills from fighting them in Ashenvale or working with them in Amirdrassil… but neh.

I totally understand you. As a big dwarf fan, I always wanted to main Dwarf Hunter (like in the Warcraft Classic trailer) but the hunter theme for the spells are clearly designed for bow users rather than guns.
