Hunter's Mark "damage" effect is a fake of a raid buff, please rework it

I will keep creating these threads until we see changes. There is wide agreement that Blizzard rework of hunter’s mark as a “raid buff” in S3 of DF was complete failure, it was basically “lets give hunters an illusion of a raid buff without giving them an actual raid buff”.

As of now Hunter’s Mark is a fake of raid buff. Not only it contributes less than 1% of effective dps in raids, it’s complete trash in m+. Even worse, it creates a button bloat.
I have to have this stupid ability on my spell bar. I will say even DK’s raid buff (i.e. no buff at all) is better than this trash. In my hunter’s kit it’s the worst button to press.

People have been massively criticizing this “damage buff” effect ever since it was introduced in s3 of DF, but whoever introduced this stupid idea must have a big ego, as they conveniently ignore player’s plea to rework hunter’s raid buff.

Remove damage buff effect from Hunter’s Mark (leaving it as pvp ability to track enemies only) and give us proper raid buff.

I play a lot m+ as tank, healer and dps and the last time I heard something like “lets take a hunter, we need their hunter’s mark damage buff” was NEVER.

Just create a macro to merge it in with misdirection on focus target and you’re fine

But it would be nice for the marker to be more useful in PvE content. Right now it does indeed feel extremely useless compared to the magic dmg increase DHs give or Monk giving extra physical dmg.

People have been talking about this since they gave us the current iteration of hunters mark, so it doesn’t look like they really want to change it.
With that being said, I think the issue really comes up in mythic + content (or any content with AOE for that matter) as we have no way of spreading it to multiple targets. They could make it so multishot applies hunters mark to every target hit as a quick band-aid for that specific problem. Personally, I’d rather it just be completly scrapped and give us a proper stat buff.
