But I’ve read in a few places that this is wrong, but I don’t understand why. This is the quickest way to get those two spells on to my target, and it increases the healing of EM greatly as well.

Also is there an addon to help me manager renewing mists better? I keep forgetting to put them on targets
usually vivify has a cast time of 1.3 and EM about 1.8.
soothing engages 1 sec GCD, then the heal lands, which engages an 1.5s (reduced by haste) GCD. so together they take longer than the cast time of each spell, but in case of EM the heal lands almost a second earlier.
if you’re gonna spam them on different targets, it’s better to hard cast them. if you know you’ll cast more on the same person (or he’s about to die) then soothing should be cast first.

I really regret getting Clouded Focus as my legendary now 
It has uses in pvp so its still good to have that legendary in case you wanna try out
