How do you people manage to get so much gold? I play pretty regularly, I quest and do dungeons and have about 5k - 10k gold at a time, but there’s people with millions. HOW?! I simply do not understand how this works at ALL!
Play the AH. Some find that fun, bizarrely.

Some people treat this as a market game and only play the AH for gold. That is their game. Know what sells. Fltip stuff. Make profit. buy rare stuff that is cheap and flip it.

buy items cheap and sell them for way more. thats what playing the ah means, they re flipping assets if you will.
there are also people who multibox farm or farm raw gold or simply sell boosts/tokens.

Buy cheap, sell high. Corner a market and monopolize it, buy everything that’s in demand and then relist it at a higher price. I’m not too savvy with it myself, I prefer to play the game, but get an add-on like Auctioneer to begin, if that’s something you’d enjoy.
but you gotta get the gold before you buy stuff right? i’ve only ever used the auction house to buy cheap mounts like that gallywix atv mount 
people abused the hell out of legion and wod class halls/garrisons. thats how some accumulated an obsurde amount of money.

I joined bfa rip to me :’) i think the most gold I ever had was 20k and some rando just gifted it to me while I was walking around zuldazar.
well, theres still hope. at the start of every expansions herbs/ore etc is worth a lot of gold so if you plan on making money as your average joe you gotta do it at the start of the expansion.

Takes time to set up but once it’s set up it’s done and everlasting.
You can have traders on multiple servers selling things with the help of TSM, a max druid for hyperspawn farming and Mining and Herbalism, mostly passive income from 20+ character’s garrisons.
Once you have a good amount of gold from doing those things you can start flipping battle pets across servers and flipping gear on multiple servers (not right now since it’s expansion time). There are plenty of guides on youtube on how to do these once you have the gold to start.
The first thing you should do is get a max level Druid with Mining and Herbalism so you can farm effciently. Druid’s flight form is the main reason for this because they can mount up instantly which makes farming way faster. Get Gathermate and Routes addon for ore and herb farming. Learn about hyperspawn farms on woweconomy reddit or from youtube guides. Do some of that for a while and get some gold to fuel the next part.
Then, have 4 max level characters on your main server that cover all tradeskills. 1 with Inscription/Alchemy (herbs), 1 with Enchanting/Engineering, 1 with Blacksmithing/Jewelcrafting (ores) and 1 with leatherworking/tailoring. You are going to have to play them quite a bit and level all their professions if you want lots of recipes and higher rank recipes. You can make new characters that only do tradeskills or use current ones, whichever works for you. When you have them, learn how to use the TSM addon to plan crafting and selling. You are not going to be making serious gold without it, period.
Once you’ve got that sorted on your main server, start thinking about what you want to do on other servers.
Getting rich in WoW takes ‘work’ (without exploiting or multiboxing) which is why everyone isn’t able to do it. Once you have it all set up though, it is dead easy. You end up with a constant stream of gold that you can turn into more gold by flipping things. Setting it up is the problem most people have…
Some players just farm gold and do nothing else in the game, this is boring.
I manage to have around 300k when I don’t spend gold on mog, pet or toy.

idk in august i was at like 200k gold, in september I had longboi ready.
just boosting, and rn prices are gigabad, but like even now 5m in a month was ezpz, didnt even play that much.

There are many tips and tricks.
1- For example in BFA, you could do a leatherworking + skinning and clear out all the small dinos by snapping them and then skinning them.
With a darkmoon skinning speed pot, you finish each run in about 2-4 minutes.
In about 30 minutes you would have finished 10 instances, and have enough mats to get about 10k gold.
If you do this for 4 hours a day, that’s a 40k gold income, or if you do it regularly while waiting for stuff like queues or joining groups you’d have an income that stockpiles.
I made about 100k gold in less than 2 weeks by simply parking my warlock infront of AD and doing AD runs every now and then.
This is just 1 trick, there are countless others.
2 -Another trick is to join a boosting community, you get about ~15-20k gold per run, all you gotta do is lurk in the discord and post as soon as a buyer is found ( which happens way… WAY too frequently )
In total, that’s about 20-40k gold per hour, much faster if you are a dps or healer, and even faster if you play a rare class + role ( For example resto shaman in BFA )
It goes even faster if you make a boosting group.
3- Another method is to play the AH, you can use smarts, or u can use TSM which requires a little bit of setup ( and there is a premium version of it ) and you’re basically a money making machine as long as u sit in front of the PC and keep sniping.
4- Another method is to farm rare transmogs and sell them, for example I spent 10 hours farming tmogs in Silithus, I got about 1k green items, so far I made over 100k gold from them and I still have hundreds left, I’m just too lazy to sell.
5- Another method is to farm old raids, knowing which ones to farm can grant you some insane sum of gold
6- Another method is to keep finishing the legendary questline for shadowmourne, theoritically if you setup 5 characters to get it, that’s 1 million gold in about a month.
7- Another method is to hit max level super early as soon as an expansion launches, and then make darkmoon cards and sell them, you can make a couple of millions that will last you through multiple expansions, repeating this cycle just makes you richer and richer.
8- Likewise, utilizing herbs, pots, flasks and so on at the start of an expansion = GGG
9- Sometimes, when an expansion launches, there exist a pre-raid BiS BoEs, farming them ( usually from max level world mobs, etc ) can easily net you a couple of millions.
10- Sometimes blizzard puts systems that give players gear advantages, like from professions or basically gear upgrades ( Legion scrap thingy ) utilizing those can get you a lot of money.
Tl;dr there are many many ways to make gold, but imo the most reliable way is to be the early bird in an expansion and make huge profits that can last for a very long amount of time.

I don’t really know what their passives are, so I can’t really recommend.
All I remember for sure is the glider racial
- Some people still have up to millions of gold left over from the massive Free Gold of the Mission Tables in WoD and Legion.
- Gathering at start of expansion. In Legion I had one alt on a realm I took double gathering on and made over half a million in the first month, with very little time spent. Haven’t bothered doing anything with him since.
- Boosting makes millions easily.
- Playing the AH, as people say, is the biggest way. It’s not just flipping; it’s knowing the shuffles, and what will be needed in advance. The bonanza time is start of expansion. See the woweconomy subreddit on reddit.
If you just want a few hundred thousand, a bit of regular farming, done consistently, will get you there.

ATM your best shot is waiting for SL then gathering herbs and mines and food stuff and selling it.
Boosting is better but it’s looked down upon so ye
