Hello,
as a disclaimer, I am not good in PvP. I never played this mode until Dragonflight where I decided to finally commit and only try to PvP without any time spent in PvE to finally see how it is. I am usually a mythic raider since I started in MoP.
I play healer and I can’t find any fun healing in solo shuffle. It feels like the game is designed for DPS enjoyment at the expanse of healers.
Dampening is such a F*** you healers mechanic and I find it extremely unrewarding. Finally being able to cast a heal doesn’t do anything on the health bars after some time.
It doesn’t matter that we successfully cast a heal after avoiding 2 or 3 interrupts or the dozens of micro CC of the enemy team, health bars won’t move.
I am not sure how you healers can like this to be honest. The healers getting weaker over time feels like a punishment more than anything.
Anyway, maybe WoW is just not for me anymore, I am a little bit tired of high end PvE and can’t find fun in PvP.
My subscription ends soon and won’t renew it. GL to all healers!
Cheers.

checkmate blizzard, painted themselves into a corner with that dampening and now pay with subscriptions losses
I remember how before the dampening I could as resto druid invite a random dd and have fun with cc and swaps and raise like +500 rating. And all this without voice, it feels like natural way to play and win.
After introduction of dampening my first cyclone will be met with invitation to go f myself because dd just wanna tunnel the target and it will eventually die.
they dont, everyone rerolling dps
and those who havent yet are saying everywhere and in every stream how they hate this expansion and their time as healer
i wonder how the dps ques will look like in few weeks when the effect of reacent changes for even higher dps and tier sets are starting to sink in
disc might be the only heal having fun actually and that is for 2s where they can do this “kill or be killed” style of yolo all in with some busted arms or sin right now which is nothing to do with healing but yeh its healer spec so i guess it counts as “fun as healer”
markers style of gameplay from sl where u ignore every healing stat and talent that increases healing and just build as much crit and vers for convoke as rdudu and press convoke while eating bowl of cereal and say haha when something die
difference being that disc also has ps and big shield with rapture and other utility which is useful so its not just big fat chicken disguised as a healer like this markers was in sl

If you were a mythic raider, then you’re probably accustomed to wiping on particular boss repeatedly until you get the mechanics down. It’s the same starting off in pvp. You have to learn the mechanics each of the specs throw at you, and how to counter them.
I quit raiding long ago, and I’m definitely not a great pvper.
Tell you what though; stuffing some rogue/warr/etc feels better than downing the lich king
Yeah, I know what it is to not give up and get better.
The problem is that it is not fun. At least for mythic raiding, the encounters are (or can be) fun and the learning experience is great.
The issue is not that I don’t progress but that it doesn’t seem to matter because I don’t find healing in pvp rewarding because of dampening, especially in solo shufle.

try disc i guess, or roll dps, or let the sub roll out
those would be my choises in that position
disc is also only good if you can cast which means you would specific comps that enable you to play the game
But overall healing is in the most miserable state its ever been, its plain awful, its punishing, unrewarding, frustrating. Especially if youre not playing an s tier healer

i wonder how long it takes till blizz start to pick up on this
and that the dampen changes were propably not what increased ammount ms effects and borscht in the game needs
1+1=?

Yes, I did reroll for example. Not because I wanted to, I would still love to heal, however the state of healing has to be the worst ever in the history of the game. I remember when I first picked shaman and you could literally feel the effect of the mastery when you pumped a juicy heal for 70% of someones HP when they were low.
Now I healing stream, primordial, unleash and NS/Healing Wave (setup you can only execute once per minute) and it still doesn’t feel as satisfying or impactful as a simple healing wave back in WoD for example. That ment healing was just part of your toolkit and then you could also focus on using offensive spells and CC. Even in Shadowldans, which was considered a fast meta, you still could make plays. The meta now is not fast, it ridiculous. Especially on lower raitings if you try to do an offensve play, you often get punished for it.
To sum it up, they continued boosting dmg, while lowering the healing output and now everybody wonders, why nobody wants to play a healer. To put it simple it just feels like you are there spam healing so the rest can just have “fun” mongloid one shots.
i laugh at the idea that there is somewhere team designing pvp for this game
and someone has idea that we need increase dampen for the upcoming df meta etc
could be a great idea to make heals useless when we are going for higher burst and more ms effects
anyone could seen from the talents alone on ptr that its going to be even shorter ttk than sl tier + double legos were
and yet they decide increase dampen and ramp it up faster
i laugh that theres someone on some team that gets this idea
that man has zero logic on his bones
no logic to be found

That’s what I feel, yes. I am not sure what can be done but dampening is really a fun killer.
I’d rather see damages going up over time like every 1 minute, 2 balls similar to the battleground Temple of Kotmogu appear on each side of the arena and the players who pick them up get a buffs+debuffs (taken & done).
At least, we would see some kind of team strategy on the best time to get that for a go. The buffs&debuffs would increase of time until someone is killed.
This would make healing harder over time without punishing healers like dampening.

They don’t, especially if they are not prevoker/rdruid/disc.
I mainly play healer but I rerolled most of my healers to dps, might roll back in next season if they decide to do something about this mess.
I found out last night how Disc priests have fun in SS.
By not healing and playing as a dps.

as much i believe this be the case and dont doubt it for second i still think dps will ss more efficiently as heals tend to go 3-3 more often than dps
I play with 5 healer and world of Warcraft has become a punishment you’re right.

I’ve been arguing against Solo Shuffle being 3v3. It should’ve been a 2v2.
Healers are mainly forced to just sit back and PvE and even then its very stressful 'cuz someone may just flop in a few globals.
They can’t do anything on the dampening part 'cuz the moment games start lasting longer, 1 full Solo Shuffle run is going to take 1 hour, which by at that point I would rather go back to LFG.
This was going to be a mode for casuals, should’ve been a 2v2.
Personally, I have fun by staying the hell out of arena and just rolling in Random BGs, where even a halfway decent healer (like me) on a non-meta spec (also like me) can turn the balance of a fight and bask in the adoration of my peers…
Random are the best, it should have updates in priority here…
i am a healer to and i am thing reroll dps to and stop healing i love to heal
healing is not fun
Good thing that the game is in that current state. Easier to quit that way.
I tried one last time yesterday evening after work. It wasn’t fun at all even if I gained 300CR.
I’ll stop here and won’t be playing anymore. At least, I tried one last time to like the game.
I sincerely hope for the healers that they have a good look at all this and you can have fun again. Cheers.
