I am Thinking to Main Rouge

I’ve been playing this Fury Warrior for the past three expansions, and I’ve reached a point where I’m starting to hate playing Warrior for many reasons.

Now, I’m thinking about playing another melee class that is good in almost all seasons. I’m not asking to be in the top three DPS, but I’d like to at least not be at the bottom of the chart.

My questions to you guys are:

  1. Warriors hit from 5 yards only. Does Rogue hit from 5 yards like Warriors?
  2. I’m not a fan of bleed or DoT playstyles. Which Rogue spec deals big numbers and is better in the execute phase?
  3. Fury Warriors lose a lot of DPS when dealing with raid mechanics. What about Rogues?
  4. Warriors have no immunity; I assume all Rogue specs do. Am I right?
  5. Warriors lack utility in Mythic+. What do Rogues bring with them in Mythic+?

Any recommendations? Thank you all.

  1. Yes, enough players complained about range issues compared to Rogues and Feral Druids that they removed it from every melee class, EXCEPT paladin, that can continue their rotation from nearly 20yards away.
  2. We dont really HAVE an execute phase, but if you dont like dots, then play Outlaw.
  3. We are melee, we all loose dps from mechanics, except Paladins.
  4. We have a magic immunity, and a 100% dodge.
  5. We have invis, stuns, Blinds, a damage reduction poison, rage dispell.

Here are some reality checks that you will have to know:
We take a lot of damage if played wrong in open world.
We have REALLY bad self healing outside of our 30sec cd, 25% max health hot over 6sec.
We have some of the coolest transmog opportunities.

It seems the Outlaw Rouge is a Fury Warrior (The Pro version)

Yeah, old combat rogue (who was later turned into Outlaw), was a stealth capable fury warrior with a ton of cc.

Outlaw now is basically a fury warrior, with more steps and more gadgets.^^

Play Outlaw bro, it’s a blast to pump hard, about the same, maybe higher APM than Fury.

Don’t sleep on Feint, it’s 40% AoE reduction, and if you skip Cheat Death it’s another 20% non-AoE reduction.

Don’t listen to the haters hatin’ on Killing Spree, it’s cool as balls going “Nothin’ personal, kid” like a maniac.

If you pick Fatebound you have quadruple Hook, can cover some serious distances if you need to.

Be wary, it’s a spec requiring attention and planning ahead.

Just play Mage, they will nerf rogue next week 100%
