Yeah it feels kinda rigged. I can’t get plate shoulders from dormazain. Killed him 10 times already. It’s like there is always one piece of gear that just dosnt drop
I hardly doubt you will have the thrill of the hunt, when you kill the same boss for the 19x’s time, with some pugs which will wipe a minimum of 5 times on it, and killing a boss with the 15+ -minute long fight, which is also very hard to find a group that will kill the boss.
Yesterday, had a raid to attend, I did not attend. I was so disappointed that I did not get the helmet in the vault even though I specifically killed those 3 bosses Ner+KT+SYLV, I got the trinket from Ner’zhul which I got a minimum of 5 times by now, I did not even want to play anymore. Not sure if I still want to.
I’d be happy if one could buy specific slot items with all that valor, much like in TBC and Wrath. That’s a good system that rewards and respects your time, as after X boss kills, you’ll have enough currency to buy a powerful epic item.
That could be brought back to retail to ease gearing
i said it years ago… it is rigged… how are you all just noticing it… the more gear you get the less chance u get of obtaining the next… and when u get to the last it is so rare it makes the rarest mounts look common.
why do you think i dont raid (other than recent time constraints)… but i still didnt raid when i had the time… its all designed AGAINST the players.
Because Blizzard applied good old Blizzard ways, who were thinking that having deterministic gearing would be bland, unfun and boring. So that’s why the community supports such Looting system.
On a more serious tone, we had deterministic gearing from tbc to Mop, when the game was objectivively better, so those systems should definitely being brought back. There is no wrong in ensuring having a full bis set after 10 reclears.
With 20 people in the raid, 4 items drop. That’s a 20% chance to loot an item, at all.
Ner’zhul has 4 items that drop for a mage, Sylvanas has 3.
The chances to loot the exact item you want from Ner’zhul are roughly 5%, so on average, it takes 20 kills to loot the head.
For Sylvanas, it’s a bit more, with 6.7%, so on average 15 kills.
You have 20 kills on Ner’zhul and 9 on Sylvanas.
You’re just now getting unlucky on Ner’zhul and are still a bit off from getting unlucky on Sylvanas.
It feels terrible and I feel you, I still need a waist from mythic, even though I’ve had weeks of great vault x3 mythic loot as well as at the very least 8 kills on any boss that drops one, but the RNG is working fine.
It’s just that sometimes people get lucky and other times they get unlucky.
I have been farming normal SoD on my hunter because, well you know why. It’s not killing the bosses I’m tired of, farming is farming, it’s getting a group for it. Every week its getting harder and harder to find a group or to fill up the one I create.
When I was more active, I made numerous threads asking for a valor vendor so gear isn’t such an RNG fest and they rarely get any attention.
Valor vendors MUST be added to the game, with all gear being available to all players through them - that way, Blizz won’t have to worry about raid gear balancing in M+. M+ players will have access to raid gear.
The community hates the RNG and isn’t vocal about the solution which Blizzard already knows works… and they seem to be adding it in 9.2 in some way.
Your other problem is personal loot. With master looter, loot was generally random. But personal loot isn’t entirely random. You know Activision, and I’m sure they do something to your RNG to keep you playing more by not getting the items you need. The solution is obvious - bring back master looter. With the valor vendor it’s not gonna be an issue.
