Hi all,
I recently started to have internet with a new provider Now (UK), all good but when I try to access to wowhead I get this:
Wowhead Static CDN Error
Your browser can’t reach the server where we host our styles, scripts, and images. This is sometimes caused by an issue with your DNS server, which is what your Internet Service Provider uses to help your browser find other servers by their domain names.
I’m not the best at Internet matters, any suggestions?
It is blocked only when I use my wi-fi, if i try to access with my phone data is all fine.
If the thing that’s changed is your internet provider, then the solution lies with your internet provider. Contact them and tell them you’re having access problems with some sites that you had no problem accessing with your old provider.
You might be able to get round it in the short term by using a VPN.
Thank you for your answer,
I investigated the broadband provider and there was a “buddy system” as a default that was set as a pegi13. I turned it off and now everything works as normal. Leaving the post just in case someone else has this problem.
A lot of ISPS in the UK particularly have to offer a screening service by law, however it’s usually easy to disable if the account holder doesn’t want it.
I’m on the same ISP and it’s a parental control thing, I have mine set up to age restrict anything not suitable for kids with a few tweaks to allow me to play video games because I have an 8 year old and some things he just doesn’t need to come across online. Now actually does parental controls well!!
However, it never occurred to me the issues with wowhead were related to the parental controls so I’ll have to go and whitelist the website at some point in order to save some mobile data
I fixed it by disabling my Pihole (ad blocker), ctrl + f5 reload site (site loaded normally again), cookie banner popped up, declined all, turned on Pihole again and now everything is normal again when I visit the site.
I have the same problem. Cdn loading problem. I already posted on WoWhead forums, but 4 days later no one have responded yet.
The problem lies with Cdn.cookielaw.org.
if you block this url within your adblocker or something you probably can visit WoWhead fine. It was ‘solved’ for me after I did that.
