I can't remember a single SL theme song so far

Did Blizzard fire the sound department or something to save money? BFA was full of original music that grabbed you the moment you heard it. So far anything I’ve heard in Shadowlands sounds like nondescript elevator music apart from the menu screen. The production value is a step down from BFA.

The moment you try and critique WoW music is when you know you’re just a negative nancy.

Not really because one of the biggest appeals of WoW has always been the art. This doesn’t include just visuals but sound as well.

I can’t remember most themes from WoW anyhow, who cares.

OP looking for reasons to make another thread.

Dungeons are too dark, their layout is bad, the music is not good enough, city hub is bad… Why put yourself through this much torment man?

There is one in Oribos that is quite nice, and although i haven’t been to the elven/fae area i have heard some music from there (Ardenwealdi think) and it also has at least one nice track there. Tbh, after the masterpiece that was Northrend it was always going to be difficult to match not only its brilliance, but its subtlety in knowing when to bring in silences and soft sound effects.

WoW music although (in my opinion) always good, has tended toward being more brash since then.

Computer generated voices as well, wing-ed instead of winged - saving money everywhere and the computer voices are full on disney …

Meh… most of the time the music is simply too quiet. There is nothing to even hear so it doesn’t matter. I really dislike the quietness of login screen specifically.

As for remembering any song, I only remember the one when you enter maldraxus the first time. Only remember as in I remember that was pretty fitting music. Not saying it was something I’d specifically want to hear again.

There are very few wow musics I’d like to hear again and I’m not sure they are actual in game musics even with exception of “way of the monk” from mop.

You never heard this?

oi oi oi calm down trollren, the manager has heard you and says YOURE FIRED.

The music is great. i even had to beg my rich friends to send me the OST XD

I for one am just so glad to not get my ears blasted with Dazar’Alor’s theme anymore. Don’t get me wrong; it was a nice enough tune the first few times but my god…I kept slamming my mute button the instant I entered that zone every following time.

I found Oribos particularly enjoyable precisely because it isn’t trying to impress me with some obnoxiously loud theme being played on repeat every 5 seconds.

There is value in subtlety. Just ask rogues.

Oh look, a typical Testonek whining thread. Move along folks.

I beg your pardon? Giving feedback is not “whining”, I also gave some positive feedback.

The Dreamer.

That’s my favorite so far.

I quite like the music though. It’s definitely less bombastic than the music in BfA. The music in Shadowlands errs a bit more toward ambience. I think it will be better in the long term. One annoyance i had with BfA was that the music quickly became tiring to listen to, because it was so much at the forefront. The huge climatic parts of the Boralus or Zuldazar tracks are great, but become exhausting when you have to listen to them again and again. The music in Oribos is easier on the ears. It’s more soothing and continuous.

One of the songs in Ardenweald is very, very similar to (not entirely sure, but it’s something I watched recently) the Fantastic Beasts 2nd film soundtrack, and I love it. Dunno what it’s called, but thanks for reminding me to buy the soundtrack so I can compare.

I mean so far i’ve really liked the soundscape, Malxraxxian music is of particular enjoyment for my Necromancer RP character

Last original music from WoW I remember:

I thought the music was nice. Dunno man, people will complain about anything these days. Someone in my ex-guild complained that Bastion was too bright…

Personally I haven’t been able to get the Maldraxxus and Revendreth music out of my head for a while, lol. And the Ardenweald spin on Nightsong is really cool.
