I have returned to Wow after 6 years and I no longer seem to ber able to smelt the ore I mine into bars. Am I missing somthing or is this a bug?
I am a Miner, but not a blacksmith is this why ? I never needed to be a blacksmith in the past. As a miner I could smelt the ore in to bars. Is this no longer the case ?

You can’t smelt ore because that is no longer the Miner’s job. Blacksmiths make alloys with whatever ingredients they need! The only thing you can do is refine lower-quality ores to higher-quality ores, when you trait for Refinement.

You seem to be level 57, so not yet in Dragon Isles. In Dragon Isles Mining, what Disadvantage says is true (God, the devs have screwed up the logic of professions SO BAD 
)
But older ores should be ok. Are you near a Forge to do your smelting with?
Thank you that is what I needed to know. I will have a think on how I want to proceed. Probably set up a black smith charecter.
