Maybe im just old(30 ), I dont remember having this issue before but I constantly feel like I need to look at my action bar to see my keybinds & if abilities are on CD or not.
How many else have this problem ?

there are some good weakauras that help you keep track and makes it easier to see.
I always use custom UI now because the standard UI just doesnt cut it with all these keybindings and abilities to keep track off.
I am using weak auras for debuff/buff uptime, only don’t have issues with the base CD.
Thats about geting used to your spec. I like to leveling characters and trying them in low keys. Always on fresh toon i have just same as you, watching action bar 24h that i dont see even my group already wiped but when getting used to keybinds and stuff i am starting to focus less on action bar and more on gameplay.
Depends on the class.
If a spec features lots of charges with a long CD/dependence on procs, I’ll loot at my bars more often.
I never do as Resto Shaman or Mistweaver, but I look at it often when playing Survival Hunter or Warrior.
I am at the same age and i have the same problem. I think there are few factors:
Yeah. I installed ToxiUI (ElvUI Edition) and with it you can install a class / spec specific WA. Seems nice, I just need to get used to it ^^
Same here… at first I set up some weakauras in the middle of the screen to track CDs of my abilities but I still kept looking to the bottom of the screen to check my bars… so instead I installed bartender and simply moved my bars closer to the center of the screen and only use weakauras to track some long CDs. Works for me just fine.
This is unholly, way too many buttons, way too many globals, the spec does good damage but it’s god awful to play.
Do you mind elaborating on what concerns you about the spec?
Age. im getting old and attention and reflexes are beginning to fade.
this is actually a common complain people have, when asked why they quit the game.
looking at cooldown / dot timers is not fun gameplay.
Is it really down to age? I am 30 too, and I feel like my reflexes and awareness in game are better than when I was in my teens or early 20s. Could also be due to computers being much slower back then…
I think it’s when you are playing a new spec, I find myself looking at the action bar on new characters, but after a few days of playing them it becomes second nature.
The class rotations today are no more complicated then they were around WoTLK era.
-Burst rotation there is way too many global cooldown in the way. Makes the rotation feel clumsy.
-The cooldowns are all over the place so it’s not like you can create a macro to easy off your rotation Nope! You keep track of every 10 different cooldowns or get an addon to do the job.
-Why is outbreak on GCD?
-Spec feels good because it does insane damage but lower its damage and you quickly notice how clumbsy the spec feels to play and how annoying it’s GCD is AND how all cooldowns are spread everywhere with all part of your burst.
Pre pull - Necrolord shield (if in use), AoD 2 seconds before pull, pot 1 second before pull -> Pull -> Dark Transformation -> Unholy blight -> x2 festering -> Necrolord ability -> Apocalypse - Death coils till you need to refresh.
Yeah, it does sound a bit extreme for opener, doesn’t it?
PS: This is most likely not the correct sequence, due to RP cap.
Jesus christ, people in their 30s are not ‘old’. I’m 33 and the reaction speed you need for all things WoW is so laughably lenient that I really don’t expect anyone with enough experience in the game to struggle. Wasn’t there a post on Wowhead about a 70+ year old person reaching Grand Marshal in Classic? If you’re looking at your action bars, fix your UI. I use the WeakAura packages from AfenarUI.
