(As hunter in TBC) I put wolf in stable, tamed level 32 stranglethorn tiger which has Dash rank 1. Then i swapped pet to my wolf and i don’t see Dash in the Beast training book. Shouldn’t it show up even if i don’t have skillpoints for it? All the other skills show there instead, also Claw rank 3 i could give my pet but it already has Bite and Howl so i don’t want to, at least yet.
For example tbc pet training calculator in wowhead… which i can’t link on this forums.
The thing is also that i can’t train Bite to any pet that doesn’t have it naturally. Problem with Claw is that it consumes all the focus, leaving not enough for Growl which then causes it to lose aggro on those pets.
Edit: Found this note from a guide and it helped… Good thing i didn’t abandon the tiger yet:
It takes a while until you as the hunter learn the dash spell from that lvl32 tiger. So you basically have to kill mobs with that tiger until you learn it. There will be a chat message when it happened. Only then you can learn dash to other pets.
You need to attack stuff until it says “You have learnt Dash (rank 1)” in yellow, then you need enough points to train it. remember a happy pet will make it quicker.
TBCC is more complicated than retail when it comes to pets.
You need 3 things. Learn the spell/skill from the pet. Your pet has to be able to learn it (A cat can learn stealth for example but a raptor can not). And you need to have free points to learn it with (if it has a cost).
You will have to spend some time with the tiger to learn the skill from it and after that you are good to go.
Not a while at all actually. I was at town and i just clicked the dash just once. With that i got a message in chat that it was learned. But sure it could be i was just lucky.
