I consider it hard to get from level 60-70 in Outland

Hi all!

I play WoW Burning Crusade Classic, and I like TBC more than Vanilla, due to a lot of improvements, the Draenei, the Blood Elves and the happy life in Outland and Isle of Quel’Danas. I’m absolutely not saying I complain that the level cap is increased from 60 to 70, but I consider it very hard to level up from 60 to 70 in Outland, due to some reasons:

  • You may disagree with me and call me crazy now, but as far as I consider it, there are NOT enough quests in respective region in Outland, on the way from level 60 to 70, so I often have to keep killing mobs below my level all the time to level up, plus that I don’t like doing instances or working with other professions than Skinning. In other words, there are not enough soloable quests in Outland on the way from level 60 and 70.

  • You can also say that it is too much XP required to get to the next level, as soon as you reach level 60. Either that, OR that there are too few soloable quests in Outland.

  • Since it takes so long to get from level 60 to 70 in Outland, it’s very easy for me to get tired of my char that is between level 60-69, and think it’s more fun to level up a new char with a different class to level 60 instead. You don’t have to have a char in maximum level, but one part of me says,
“Yes, you do have to have at least one char in maximum level, or else you don’t feel good as a WoW fan or WoW player.”
So I actually consider it a problem for me, that I’d rather level up an alt to level 60 than leveling up my level 60-69 char to level 70.

Now when I post this topic the highest leveled char I have, is level 62, and he has rested at an inn a long time and is now rested a long way, or how you should say it. I’d love to have energy in real life to level him up to 70, but I don’t have the energy I need for it, and I feel very bad from it. In the original TBC era, back in the year 2008, I remember it as there WERE enough quests in Outland on the way from level 60 to 70, and that it didn’t take as long as I’m describing above, but I seem to remember it wrong.

I am NOT posting this topic to complain about the TBC era or anything. I just need some tips and tricks, how I can do to get energy in real life to level up my level 62 char, and how I can level up fast in Outland without any other professions than Skinning and without doing group quests or instances, and how I can become motivated to level up my 62 char, and work away my laziness.

Thanks in advance!
Heatmage

Depends on which part of 2008 you’re talking about. I can’t remember which patch it was, but there was a patch that significantly reduced the exp required to reach 70. I think it was around the same time that all Outlands dungeons and raids were nerfed.

I’m talking about july-august 2008.

Sounds more like “I can’t be bothered” than needing energy. Buy boosts. There are more than enough quests to get to 70. You may have to actually go looking for them though.

It takes about 5-7 days of light solo questing 1-3 hours every evening. How is this hard or time consuming?

Ive leveled 5 characters from 60 - 70 and reached 70 well before finishing Netherstorm or even starting Shadowmoon on all of them. Mind you I was “powerleveling” which means a minimum of dungeons and rested.

If one starts doing pre-quests and pre-raid BiS on level 68 (the ones you can), there are more quests and XP than you will ever need.

Your motivation is another thing, but seperated from XP and quests. Perhaps you simply dont want to play, so dont.

Imagine playing MMO and not doing group content. TBC leveling is designed around doing dungeons if u want to avoid them completely u will have a bad time.

Kind of this - I reckon it’s between 8 and 10 hours per level……and @OP……there are way more than enough quests. I haven’t done most of blades edge; barely touched nether storm and my only visit to smv was to get flying and I hit 70 on my hunter; and I’ve done exactly zero dungeons on him too.

I played TBC when it was released. But mostly early mornings since I worked afternoon/evening then.
Had to do some Gym and food cooking action before work.

I remember there were plenty of quests to get you to 70?
I didn’t even do all the dungeons just the ones my friend recommended to me for my Warrior and newly created Shaman.

Only hard part I remember was as a lvl 58 rogue in Outland:

Ps. Maybe it is a bit harder compared to sub 60 but you get more coin.

Hmm on this char (who never had rested XP) I did all the quests in all zones, and did all the dungeons just once. When I was lvl 69 and a bit I could start SMV, have still full Netherstorm left.

On my alt, who did have access to rested XP, did the first 3 zones that (hellfire/zanger/terrok) and ‘some’ quests that appealed to me in Nagrand. Skipped Blade’s Edge entirely and did a few quests in SMV, then hit 70.

What does this mean? It means there are plenty of quests even if you have no rested XP and don’t do dungeons.

What?
I had like 1-2 zones spare of quests after hitting 70? :man_shrugging:

Classic WoW is an MMO and it has been pure MMO till WoD, when they started this “chosen one” BS, focusing on solo player expirience at expence of social interaction with introducing of garrisons. This trend only grew stronger, as zone level scaling allowed to completely ignore grouping when leveling. Not that it was bad thing, but we used to hop into crossrealm groups to kill some elite or world quest and disband immedeatly to never see that player again, neither did we cared.

You are expected to be in a constant party search to dungeons, while leveling on quests mixing both playstyles for maximum exp and reputation gain. It was always the core design of leveling in Classic WoW.

What level did you get to Outlands, 58? My hunter is now 64, went to Outlands at 60, and just about to start UB in Zangamarsh and loads of quests still to do. Not hard at all to level up in Outlands.

i was questing from 60-70 without dungeons, there is still too much unfinished quests in netherstorm and shadowmoon valley. Outland questing is fine with plenty of quests.

The easiest thing you can do to help you with your lvling, is to always remember to log out in an inn or hub city. That way you accumulate rested experience, which will help you lvl faster when you once again find the time/energy to continue.

Cant help motivate you, as that seems like a personal issue and I wont repeat what others above have mentioned.

Good luck on your journy!
