As per the title …
Should the Shadow form animation be changed ?
It makes my transmogs virtually useless as I spend 99% of my time in shadow form and with it active my character is indistinguishable from any other shadow priest.
Does anyone else feel this way ?
I stopped caring because we are a purple cloud 100% of the time! I would prefer that we enter shadow form when in combat!
I gave up transmogging because there’s no point when it can’t be seen. But I do like being a purple cloud … there isn’t much that makes classes unique these days, so it’s good to be instantly recognisable for what we are.
I do I played shadow priests a couple of times that was the only spec I could play on priest since I was 
with other specs and when I had a good priest transmog set I couldn’t wear it cause of the freaking shadow form made it like I had nothing on me.
Thats the least important thing you should care about now 
No, that’s why I don’t play shadow priest, because that’s the whole class fantasy and point.
Same reason I don’t play Druid. I don’t want to shapeshift out of my humanoid form.

I think they should add glyphs for shadow form if you wanna choose the old version (which is actually shadow form and not void form).
Then another glyph for Legion’s shadowform because it looked more void than what we have now (purple smoke).
And that’s how you please everyone, don’t remove animations, rather add more visual options, it gives some sort of more character customization.
For example i loved the wotlk Chain Lightning both visual and sound effect. And then the other version they were about to introduce in 7.2 but it was scrapped because people complained.
old shadowform was amazing and was the nr1 reason to play the specc. this voidform is just garbage and so is the whole specc design
i dont mind it, it could have been more transparent similar to beta (post lavalamp shadowform) butt nooooooooooo lets make it more UNtransparent, because thats what shadow means.
OT, what i really want is to not levitate during voidform thank you very much.
I only heal and play balance on my druid (With the glyph). The Legion artifacts made it fun to play feral for a while. But now that feral is really boring to play there is no reason for me to go beast form anytime soon.
shadow form does look “bleh!” and the shadow spec I found to be lack luster. I switched to another trait set, that’s working out better for me dps wise and visual wise.
Yes, this. I feel stupid hovering around in the air zapping off powerful spells. I need to have my feet firmly on the ground to do it properly.
What I really want is for levitate not to sparkle. It looks out of place for shadow priests. Wouldn’t hurt if PW:Shield also had a shadowy version for the spec.
I don’t mind not seeing the mog with shadow form.

I miss the old Shadow Priest, when we were actually unique and fun to play, not this current pseudo-Mage design we have going where we “channel the void” …
Void priest! I am used to it now but i definitely prefer MoP style and when shadow word:death was not a talent!!!
Honestly the way shadow form should have been done is that it is not a toggle and appear as normal until combat when you slowly start getting more and more voidish. Not the purple blob we are now though. More aberration like i think.
Also the weird purple we are now is nothing like the void found in BFA which is more of a blue/purple/black.

For the most part i hate those purple clouds that poke right in your camera when you fly on your mount…
Being a shadow priest was always about shadow for me not the void. Since Blizzard started to move the spec towards this old god design I got turned off by it. Not my cup of tee but here comes vanilla!
