I don't like the new player experience at all

Fair enough the only other class with rogue mechsnics is feral druid (its a rogue but with cat form)

Dont play a class for sake of ease, rogues are perfectly capable. Just abit of practice and u will be fine.

It may be harder now but it will pay off later so don’t be deterred.

I can only speak for my experience.
I’m not a player that does end game content. However, I read Icy Veins guides, regarding: Talent trees, gems, enchants and best stats, for each spec.

At the start of DF, when it launched, I had 25 level 60 characters to level up. I have currently 3 that made it to level 70 and 22 characters between the range of levels 68-69 to level up.

At the start of DF, I had like 12 (perhaps) equipped with the blue gear from DF pre-patch event. The other characters were equipped with AH gear.

I’m used to quest in updated gear. Meaning: the best gear I can purchase on the AH. The gear is also enchanted and with gems.

I quit leveling, because with all the TW dungeons, I usually do on all of my characters, they slowly outleveled, the quest areas they were currently in.

I understand where you are coming from.
Quests should reward the gear you need to continue questing.
Unfortunately I realised, it’s similar to my Vanilla experience. When you get a piece of gear, it’s probably outdated by 4 levels.

On the other hand, I’ve read other, more experienced players moaning that quest is boring and needs to be more challenging.

Edit: Currently, I have a BE Rogue (subtlety) at level 70 and a Goblin Rogue (outlaw) at level 68.
They can’t enter a mob area and just rampage everything, like my Warriors or Hunters for example. However, they can go stealth mode and chose the exact targets the quest asks for, avoiding others.

Cheers.

I’m at work rn unfortunately getting back later, I’ll wisp you when I get online and you can just let me know then.

On the boosting part, I did play before from level 1 and tried to experience it as normal as possible, it was long, it didn’t feel like it’s the real experience, I outlevel the areas am supposed to do, and I didn’t reach the expansion at that time, so I removed that as an option and this time went to the boosting

Now as for the abilities, I remember them, am sure am not using them to 100% efficiency but I am aware of what I have, I am evading, I know my cc’s, am using my combos etc, it’s not me spamming 1 button so I think it’s decent

I agree on having someone to guide through it would make it a lot easier, I play ESO, I can answer any question and help new players to get to things faster and if I had someone like this in wow am sure it would’ve been easier, but there isn’t and am not that much of an asker, I don’t like it. I put this post because am just at a great anger/frustration of the experience am having, and if I could have refunded, I would’ve done that instead of posting here, easier for me and my overall mental health

Yeah, I got to level 45 or something with that, then I gave up - I just hated it. Not just the low survivability, but how they’ve ruined a spec I’ve loved since Cataclysm… I tried Outlaw a few weeks ago as well, but I gave that up as well.

I am interested in the part where you said you bought gears, can I buy better gears? I have some coin am not sure if they’re enough but if that’s an option and I can buy a high level enough gear I’d do that so can you elaborate on that point please? no one mentioned this as an option

You can buy green gear that’s better than boosting gear.

Is there a particular set, name to search for? and is it from the market? where players sell stuff? or from vendors

From the auction house.

You can filter on the AH to search

So if you selected ‘useable only’ and ‘upgrades only’ then the list would show you relevant items.

I’m not sure the prices would be cheap enough though to bother with gear you are likely to replace pretty quickly. It’s the kind of thing I’d get from a friend who crafted.

Alright thanx, I will check for stuff there. If I have enough currency to buy I will do it regardless, it’s better to reach the next part of the game broke than not reaching it at all and stopping, even if it’s wasted gold

@Amazoner here. This is my Level 70 Rogue. She hit level 70 a week ago, during MoP TW.

I equipped her with Greens from the AH.
Fortunately for me, there’s good green items that are way better than the blue crafted gear, people had to rely on, when DF was new.
Nothing too expensive.
This is why I love to play 25 characters.
There’s always a bargain, everyday waiting to be purchased for one of my characters.

Your other way of getting gear, is during Time walking dungeon events.
Will be having another, next week. It’s on the calendar.
The first completed dungeon run, awards you 500 Tw badges. Which you can use to purchase a couple of Tw pieces from the Tw vendor.
Next week, will be the WoD, The event.
The vendor will be located in Draenor. You just need to go through the portal in Ogrimmar.
I’m planning to get the gun offered by the vendor, for my Hunters, amongst many other things.

Use a low level alt and keep it near the Stormwind AH.
Before logging, your character, check the AH for bargains. Green items are good enough for your current level.
Crafted gear is also cheap.
Buy some cheap enchants to add more survivability and DMG to your character.
I usually use Celestial guidance (main hand) and Sinful Revelation (off-hand) on my weapons (5g-7g each).
I use sharpening stones, on my weapons and I eat food buff that increases my versatility.
It all helps in the end.

Cheers.

@Amazoner here.
This is my level 68 Goblin Rogue.
Check his gear.
You won’t find any quest gear on him.
All his gear, was bought in the AH, Time walking vendor and dungeon drops.

Cheers.

I’m not sure how you play rogue but over time I realize rogues don’t play fair, if they are lets say 3 mobs you want to sap one and blind the other and 1v1 the last one.
If you use your disables timed with healing spell that usually does the trick, on high tier mobs if they are immune to disables then you have a problem, you still have defensive spells but i usually find them not enough to do it.
EDIT healing spell name was *Crimson Vial

I am only doing 1 v 1 on mobs, avoiding any 1 v 2 and my health will at least drop to half, that is keeping healing up every 30 sec and using the stuns when available

It is underpowered, it’s just the ilevel, that’s how it is, they gave me 180 I think, the zone is dropping 200 something, so mine seems extremely low

Get yourself a 1H and play outlaw.
I leveled a second rogue as outlaw mostly by questing and I found it easier to level compared to sub.
You can change specs as soon as you hit max.

In my opinion outlaw more tanky than the other two specs when comes to leveling.

Note: maybe was easier cause I main outlaw on my main rogue.

I tried to bring brand new people to the game and they just quit. They could not work out all the problems in the levelling experience, I would need to babysitting them all the way and hope they don’t quit till DF.
Mind that it’s not they couldn’t make it work they just don’t bother ‘’ the game is just bad’'.
So yh now i see even people with some experience get lost.

New players are ordered to level through BFA til 60 anyway. They shouldnt get anywhere close to the other xpacs.

I play MMO’s religiously, I play the elder scrolls online and I play black desert, WOW is not by any mean harder, just different, but I tackle new games in a certain mindset

I am a starting player, I don’t expect the questing/story following to be hard, this phase I just wanna “enjoy” the game, that’s a keyword, I don’t wanna be bothered yet with mechanics, grind, meta and any of that. I just wanna chill sit back, follow a story and get the game mechanics and ui into my muscle memory

Later on when I tackle dungeons, group questing if there is, pvp, and raids, yea, I am expecting a challenge

I am not saying I can’t finish whatever I have in front of me, am saying it’s unnecessarily challenging that would make me don’t wanna bother rather than push through it. It’s just too soon
