I don't understand why Blizzard isn't letting Dractyrs play in Visage form if they choose to

I’ve tried playing the class, it seems fun enough and easily qualifies as alt (or even main) material but I extremely dislike the player model they’ve chosen for it. I understand some people like it but I myself don’t, that’s my preference and I’m entitled to it. Big part of my playing experience is to play a character that I think looks awesome (and no, I’m not some casual, I’m a multiglad/multi cutting edge player)

There is no reason (lore or game mechanics wise) for them NOT to allow us to play in Visage form. They already let you stay in Visage outside of dragon abilities and they let you swap back into Visage mid-combat at the expense of one global cooldown (which is just stupid, that ability should have no global cooldown tied to it), why is it so hard to make you automatically swap back to Visage automatically at no GCD-expense after you do a dragon ability?

Not to mention that half of the dragon abilities don’t even require you to be in drake form graphically, quite literally the only COMBAT abilities I find that would be hard to excuse to cast in Visage form are… Deep Breath? That’s the only ability I feel that should require using the dragon model (outside of things like Soar).

Stuff like Disintegrate, Azure Strike, Obsidian Scales, QUELL, like why is swapping to a drake model required there? I can understand Fire/Dream Breath but those abilities? I understand that those abilities are hardcoded to use special micro animations that are tied to the dragon model but that’d be such an easy thing to transfer over to the human female/belf male model they’re using for visages (also why only male belf/human female? Should let us be nelves and other races too)

It all boils down to Blizzard wanting us to play through their fantasy of what the class/race should be. What I want is to play an Evoker for its toolkit/beautiful spells but I’d like to play as a Visage dragon, that’s my fantasy, why am I being denied that when it’s completely within reason to expect such a thing? The worst part are players that are attacking people who want this cosmetic/gameplay change as if we’re somehow wrong to want something like this. Flavor is always good for the game.

I forgot to add what I suggest - if we choose to play in Visage form, just immediately and automatically swap us back to Visage after we stop casting a spell that requires dragon, I’m talking about swapping us back the moment global cooldown/animation of that spell ends.

This is an easy short term fix, long term you could incorporate combat animations for some spells (Quell… Obsidian Scales, etc, basically EVERYTHING that ISN’T Flame/Dream/Deep Breath) for Visage form so the only combat spells that turn us into dragons are the 3 breaths and movement abilities.

Edit button is a thing.

As for your post, plasticine dragons aren’t for me because I find them disturbingly bad in every way.

However, can’t see why this can’t be a thing for those that like to play a character straight out of Wallace and Gromit.

I mean demon hunters are in and out of demon form constantly without a dedicated button, so it’s not an impossible task and should be a toggle option.

This change would make me bother trying out the class too. It’s enough to have demon hunters in metaform blade-dancing around to make a messy visual clutter of ADHD wings flying about, don’t need more wings covering up the screen as well

Thanks for this, a lot of people disagree and then tell us that we who want the option shouldn’t have it because they don’t agree with that and that they don’t like it.

Everyone should be allowed to play how they wish to.

So many cool customization options go to waste. If I could play in human form, maybe I would play more evoker. I would also like a glyph that gives us the ability to change the appearance something like dh.

They said they are working on that. Hope they finish. I don’t mind how much time I need to wait, because I dont plan main Evoker, but please before 2023 ends, give us Evoker fighiting in visage mode as much as posible.

You are wrong, it is not going to waste because you or another people are actually enjoying that. That’s is awesome. But ppl like me not. I know if Blizzard introduces fighting in visage mode, will made this feature optional. Dont worry.

Honestly,

I would rather see them straight out remove the Visage Form. In my opinion it looks just plane horrible.

Although I use the Uldir Mythic armour set (Mail obviously), which covers up the ugly quite well.

If we gave the playerbase full reign to be whatever they wanted to be I dread to think what the game would look like.

Some restriction on what people can be is nice. I loved it when only certain races can be certain classes. Now pretty much everyone can be everything and it’s lame IMO, it felt special before.

A Worgen question as well.

you signed up to play a lizard why are you trying to play a human same with signing up to play a worgen you play a warewolf not a human

Yes by this logic let me turn my gnome into a blood elf whenever I want.

you can do that its called faction change little troll :stuck_out_tongue:

Can one already solo that place for the transmogs?

I don’t think so

Zul has the fears that will force us to jump off the fight area that wipes the soloing raid

why dont they fix worgen first? then talk

I for one have only really been interested in the visage forms. Let’s you have quite the cute customizations and so too with a ton of options. The dracthyr model though… I know many like it, and good for them, but it had never really been my cup of tea. If there was the possibility to play mostly in visage (except for breath abilities), a good portion of people would be happier. And this doesn’t mean that it would be mandatory or something. Others who prefer the dracthyr model could still be using it at will.

I think all that is really needed is to remove the form bonuses (like regen) so that it really doesn’t matter what form you’re in.

Special, or limiting? Basically letting all races be practically all classes is more about the specific character’s individuality. I mean… even in real world you do not have to follow the culture of your nation, right?
