It is not as it requires perfect connection 50ms or less. Me myself sitting at 60±5ms had troubles with twisting not being at least 90% accurate and hated ret in TBC, despite choosing that spec for my alt raiding. If someone wants to play looter-shooter requiring perfect connection there are plenty other games for that. MMOs are supposed to have some forgiveness, thus we got GCDs and stuff.
You sound like someone who didn’t actually twist in tbc.
It was uncanny how much twisting felt like it was designed. Cool-downs fit nicely around twisting and made the gameplay way more engaging than just pressing cs when it came off cd.
Twisting was what got me to try a Paladin for the first time in classic TBC. It’s super satisfying to pull off the rotation consistently. Not to mention those big bursts of numbers with windfury. Just watch your threat.
I’m curious, what part of my comment makes you think I didn’t actually try seal twisting? Why else would I even be voicing my opinion? Once again it’s very interesting how the majority of people who comment on people disliking this seal twisting bug immediately assume they never tried it themselves, where does this stem from? It’s fairly clear that the goal is to disregard opinions that don’t align with their own.
So to clarify I’ve obviously tried seal twisting, disliked it and voiced my concerns.
Is it that hard to believe that people dislike such clunky/unintuitive game play having to reapply seals within a 0.4sec window at the end of their swing timer? Lets not even get into the fact that some players could not even attempt it properly due to latency being an issue.
I very openly said that there is always room for subjective opinions, you are free to like and dislike things as you please. My issue is that a very loud minority of players are trying to overrule and disregard the opinions of people opposing their own. And I’ve seen this happen from both sides, but with a clear majority leaning towards the pro seal twisting bug side.
Simple solution? Blizzard should poll the community as a whole so we can see what % is making so much noise and move forward from there. It’s truly that simple.
Seems like a skill issue.
Twisting is amazing af
Stop thinking like a 2023 retail player. You don’t HAVE to do anything. You don’t need to be the best, to to what all the monkeys do. If you don’t like it, don’t do it.
This tbh, feels like this thread is 3 casuals circle jerking, all Paladins I knew ingame liked Seal Twisting.
You can still Seal Twist now in SoD and in the Divine Storm rotation, if you want to be optimal. Every 3rd auto you have a free GCD so you can Seal Twist SoC with SoR. I am Twisting every 3rd auto even with the Divine Storm Rune as it gives me a tiny edge over other Paladins. Seal Twisting is technically still part of your rotation right now if you are good.
If its a bug why did Blizzard leave Seal Twisting in the game? Seal of Blood has only ever existed in TBC and it was exclusively used for Seal Twisting. You realise when people see that Seal its not their fault they want it to be Twisted because thats what its fuction was when it was in the game. The fact SoB in Season of Discovery does less damage Single Target than Divine Storm and has no AoE capabilities leaves me wondering why they even added it in the game in the first place? It certainly feels like it was supposed to be Twistable. Like I said, SoB was only ever in the game during TBC where it was meant to be Twisted with Command during that expansion and SoB got removed when Twisting was removed from the game.
Seal Twisting is also not a clunky mechanic and anyone who claims it is either doesn’t understand how it works or probably has never done it. So its really annoying seeing other Paladins comment on something they really have 0 understanding about.
Seal Twisting can be done without a Swing Timer with a simple /stopattack and /startattack macro and Seal Twisting is easy to do once you understand it. A Swing Timer obviously makes it easier and every melee until around Cataclysm has a mandatory requirement to have a Swing Timer addon so Seal Twisting requiring a Swing Timer isn’t a good arguement for it not to be in the game. Some classes such as Enhancement Shamans still need a Swing Timer from Classic - Current day Retail WoW so again needing a Swing Timer to be more reliable isn’t a good arguement for Seal Twisting not to be in the game. You’re probably even using a Swing Timer for your Divine Storm Rotation to make sure you don’t use Judgement before your Auto-Attack and thats no different than what using a Swing Timer to assist someone to Seal Twist.
I feel if Blizzard keeps Divine Storm and SoB in the same Rune slot and allows us to Seal Twist Blood properly, it’ll keep Divine Storm users happy and Seal Twisters happy which is a win for both sides. You have to remember, people like us who stuck with Retribution no matter how Bad/Unviable it was have done this for years and we strongly feel that Seal Twisting is part of the class/playstyle/identity of the Retribution Spec. It’s really ignorant saying that we aren’t allowed our expectations with the Spec because you disagree with them.
not reading that
Theres no reason why Blizzard can’t support both playstyles in SoD. I think giving Retributions a choice for the WOTLK style spammy rotation with Divine Storm and Crusader Strike and another Rotation with Seal of Martyrdom and Seal of Command twisting for Classic/TBC Ret players would be best.
Why should we force Blizzard to pick a side when they could easily add both in the game and let players choose. I think Paladin players should understand us Seal Twister players have mastered this mechanic and we love it so much we pick Ret because of this. It not being in the game for us is a big deal. SoD is allowing so many wacky of META builds they really should allow us to Seal Twist SoM and SoC inplace of Divine Storm to allow all Ret players to be satisfied.
TLDR if you are not passionate about Ret, maybe you shouldn’t be driving or asking for specific changes.
Just go Divine Storm lmfao
The whole thread is pointless.
edit: Also, fix twisting, so the paladins with hands can go martyr
