I got all things prepared, my buff is ticking, I go to the spot that is mentioned in all guides and there is only 1 mushroom. I click one, there are no more. 8 minutes pass, my ballista quest buff is about to expire. Then INSTANTLY like 4 spawn at the same time.
I don’t know if others players can interact with them or was it a bug but it’s really bad design if that is the case. If you want to try get Sorrowbane have someone in a group make sure there are no other players around the mushroom area.
Unfortunately you can’t retry it for some time because you can’t get the buff after you have completed the world quest.
Yup, blizzard really let us down on this one. The spawn time of the mushrooms needs to be drastically increased, as well as the ability to gain the two stacks of Battle Hardened again. This is a massive sour note to the start of my treasure finding.
It’s utterly ridiculous and a totally broken mechanic. At one point I had 3 stacks of the buff, but no more mushrooms spawned. The respawn rate of those mushrooms needs to be DRASTICALLY increased.
If there is even one other person there, you’ve basically failed.
I logged out with 7 mins left on the wq buff when I saw like 30 people in the area, went with my alt to camp it till there was no one there. Logged in, had the 4 mushrooms in front of me… and had no wq buff. Why does it disappear while offline? Why you need a wq that takes 4-5 days to respawn to get only 1 chance? Why the respawn of the caps is so low? Why can’t multiple people lot it?

edit: While camping it with my alt, I saw more than 20 people fail it.

This is rediculous right? I just tried to get it and there are 5 people waiting for mushrooms, i managed to snipe 3 screwing other people over but no 4th spawned? am i just supposed to wait for the world quest to come back around like wtf?
Not rough. More so gated and annoying.
It’s not like the lifespan of the item for a M0 player or raider matters, simply handy to have in the meanwhile.
Got it today at midday at quiet time. First I started at the mushroom place looking that there are plenty of mushrooms. Next I rode to the ballista place and since no one came across and there were no people doing ballistas I gave it a try and everything went smoothly. Even did it on Warmode and rode through active pvp quest area for extra sweating.
I tried today and couldn’t get the 4th because of others then I got mad, realized turning WM off was a bad decision for it.
Of course I didn’t leave the place instead I said, “If I ain’t getting the sword then none of you will muhaha”, stole mushrooms and sabotaged their buffs until they expire, I got nasty whispers from salty ones, which was satisfying.
And yea, mushrooms need increased spawnrate or bad things gonna happen.
There are now also slimy basement dwelling a**holes camping the spawn point in warmode in parties to stop people getting sword. Don’t do this in WM and blizzard refuse to do anything about the clear griefing in place in the zone for this specific achievement.
