I feel kinda done with TWW

I know this patch just came out and I don’t have curve or KSM just yet

I’ve seen the roadmap , there’s another zone + raid coming early summer

But I don’t know why I just feel done , I’m more interested in what’s next and I want to play what’s next.
I’ve always been a lore guy and I just haven’t cared about this storyline tbh.

Undermine is cool , it’s better than Mechagon but It’s just not jingling my bells at all. If the datamining is right , the rootlands where the hrronrir live , sounds like the Everbloom dungeon blown up into a zone . For the next patch.

Anyways sort of a weekend ramble. Anyone else feeling the same way ?

Ok. See you in S3.

No.

Do like I do. I play 2/3 times a week, max 2h a day.

Guaranteed way to never get burned out. Because you seem to have bindged the content… and now you are bored.

Im barely playing atm, log in for raid night or when im asked to do m+. I used to try and farm most of the collectables from a patch but after promotion after promotion I’ve accepted that my collections with have holes in it due to corporate greed and i no longer care about that stuff anymore.

Out of everyone on my friends list only 1 even tried the new patch let alone stuck around.

Yeah the gear grind doesn’t do me for very long and I only do delves. Got to 640 and went “meh” was going to get the transmogs via catalyst but I could just do that at the end of the season or years later so “meh”.

My issue is always finding something else to do in the meantime, but when I do it’s great and I appreciate WoW more when I come back.

I just level and collect stuff.
TWW feels not like an expansion, it’s more like a patch. I am in Season 6 of Dragonflight.

its not because of that Uda.
most of my guild members or even some of my friend only comes online with each new season then they go offline till the next season.
the base root of this problem is because the contents are limited and they are not alive.
its just pvp = full gear= world pvp. DONE WITH THE GAME.
pve = dungeon+raid=world quest-tmogs- side contents = done till the next season.

yes in my answer to uda and so many times i said the real reason.
and yes most of wow players feel the same.
let me give example.
every day i go hallowfall and farm.
all the week its almost empty until the Wednesday . you know why only that day it goes full>?
because the contents are dead and people only go active that day because each Wednesday they have a bit more things to do like.
each week they can get more conquest

I’m having fun, but I do content with my guild/friends and have stuff I do solo.

If you are not enjoying it, then it is probably time for a break.

People need to stop treating the game like a job, or some kind’ve contract.

You’re more than welcome to just take a break from the game.

I took a 5month break and came back feeling a lot more refreshed, and I am enjoying myself again.

I can relate.

For me it’s mostly due to so much of this expansion being underground. I’m just not liking that.

Season 2 already feels dead and it barely even started. It took what, a week and a half? That’s insane. They frontloaded everything marketing blitz, streamer hype, world first race clout to milk the engagement cow dry in the first 10 days. Stream engagment on twitch is back down last time i looked…not in the top anymore.

Undermine raid gave me one this is such a cool thing moment and that was it. After the race was over it all just fell off a cliff. Zero drive, zero curiosity about loot nothing in the story pulling me forward. And I’m simply not going to participate in PUG raiding…it’s too toxic and time consuming…you spend hours wiping and if you in the end manage to kill the boss and you dont get rewarded for it…well imagine the feling…i headed over to mythic+ instead and faced another wall of a different toxicity.

They need to stop treating every patch like a content creator activation campaign and start building actual long term engagement. This consume it all fast and bounce model is burning people out.

You’re not alone man. S2 is already a ghost town.

I’m so close to having full gear on one character… just piece away…shoulders…but at this point I can’t bring myself to do it. It’s just too painful. RNG is already a nightmare but then you add in the randomness of finding good players or not and it’s just a mess. It’s exhausting. It’s not fun anymore. It’s a grind but it’s a grind with no reward at the end. you get a chance at a reward…but you don’t get to choose it. I’m burned out

The problem is that every season is basically the new same since DF.

There is nothing new happening from season to season in terms of character power.

Say whatever you want about borrowered power, but the progressively indtroduced borrowed powers between seasons all the way from Legion to SL, did add a new dimension to the character gameplay and the character power progression every season. This added new incentive to play the character.

From DF season 1 to TWW season 2 not much (almost not at all). This is why all season feel the same and TWW feels a DF patch or something.

So rush as fast as possible M+ to be able to do 10’s for GV and perhaps full HC raid is the casual goal every season. After that, its just logging in each week hoping for the GV luck. All other content offers nothing in terms of rewards for power progression.

This has made the game trivial. New dungeons, new gear is not enough to keep it interesting or sepperate it enough from the experience of the past season.

Wow has been seasonal for as long as I can remember. Even with borrowed power, which I’d rather never see again.

This is exactly where I’m at . I’m stuck in that exact loop

And hope that you get something nice from GV…but there’s a high chance you don’t

It absolutely is.

It has been this way since Vanilla basically. With a short exception in BFA with AP farming and things like that. So why complain now? What happened?

You got burned out. That’s what.

And you perfectly explained it to me. You complete everything you want to do on Wednesday.

So you either make piece with that fact and play on Wednesdays only. Or, you play for less and strech that day to more than one day.

DONE.

I’ve said it before: Borrowed power was good. But the system itself needs to be fun and interesting.

I gotta say, I don’t agree with that notion.
Since DF I’ve been forced to do exactly as you say. Simply because there was nothing else to do for me that I wanted to do.

And it’s not working for me. I’m not burned out - I’m disinterested. Detached.

I think the solo content of the game is just getting better and better and i’m having a real blast with it, i’ve been doing more delves now after mainly doing only pvp and m+ in each patch and it’s very good in between content, ironically i wish there were more open world grinds in the game, not player power related, but stuff like reputations, the darkfuse solutions, etc. In dragonflight the seasons felt very locked into either pvp, raiding, m+, or some combination of them, but with TWW i feel like the world content is just getting better with every iteration

I wish so too, but I DO want player power.
Because cosmetics are so subjective that you can either completely love it and think it’s worth grinding hours for, or it’s so uninteresting that you just can’t be bothered. With power it’s always worth it.

BFA and shadowlands were both objectively bad expansions, player power and the infinite treadmill should never return ever, player numbers proved it, the game will unironically die if they ever try it again.

But there are a lot of tedious grinds that make the game fun, like classic era reputations, or MoP reps like the serpent riders and farming eggs, or the tillers plot.

The grinds need to be there, but to fill out the void between endgame pillars like M+, raiding, and pvp. Not to make your character stronger, gear is sufficient for that.
