All content gets stale if you do it long enough.
I really like delves as a concept and I do hope Blizzard improves upon them instead of just ditching them next expac. They’re great for a mostly solo-player like me, and also makes gearing up alts a fairly pleasant experience.
Without delves (and the weekly coffer key hunt/vault rewards) I would’ve stopped playing weeks ago, since I would’ve basically have had nothing to do:
-
I don’t raid other than the odd raidfinder (evening worker with limited time).
-
I’m kinda meh about m+ right now. Probably because I don’t have an active guild that push m+ keys, but even so I don’t really like how they work currently. Stressful with boring affixes. M+ is “on hold”, I might pick it back up in a future patch.
-
5 man normal/heroics dungeons are a sad joke, they’re completely pointless given the current (lack of) incentive or rewards you get for doing them. They might as well not even exist, thats how little they offer the player right now.
-
World Quests … barely exist. They used to give me slight FOMO in Legion and BfA (due to the rewards and sheer numbers of them), but something must’ve happened during SL or DF (I didn’t play during those 2 expansions) because I hardly recognize them in TWW: Instead of being plenty of WQs with decent enough rewards, there are now barely any WQs at all (one new per zone per day? So much content, much wow) and the rewards are absolute garbage, except for the coffer key shards. Only reason for doing them is for rep, and once I’m maxed out, I’ll most likely never do them again in their current iteration.
(TLDR: No time for raids, no interest in m+ right now, and Normal/Heroic 5mans + WQs basically only exist on paper due to complete lack of incentive to do them.)
So with that in mind, that leaves me with the following to do:
- Delves (including everything related to coffer keys/vault)
- 20th Anniversary-stuff (farming badges/tokens)
- Legacy-stuff
- Alts
So basically, remove the incentive to do delves and I’m out.
