I prefer retail over any older expansion
I like cata classic but i only log in few times a weeks just for funs
I still don’t understand why people love old stuff that much
I can’t even go back to places where i grew up cause it makes you nostalgic and i don’t like nostalgia that much…
I like moving forward no backwards
And i don’t understand why people always reminice about old times in wow during worlk ERA how glorious it was
Of course it was you were most likely child and kids are little bit different with time and place and emotions…
because they have good memories with it and since wow is not what it used to be people are looking for that good level for online games.
thats why we have classic players in the first place
That’s not the game’s fault. Classic actually tries to hide item level from you, but people are gonna do what they’re gonna do…
It’s actually WoWHead’s fault. The item levels of items couldn’t be seen in any way using the in-game UI or addons, but WoWHead managed to datamine it, resulting in GearScore.
Retail, by contrast, outright encourages iLvL exclusion. It literally lets you set iLvL requirements in the game’s interface.
Exactly. And that is why leveling has so few resources allocated compared to end-game.
And it has ALWAYS been like that. Even during Classic. And in other MMOs.
Picture this :
The “epic” raid against the “big-bad-dragon”. The cool huge axe he drops as loot. The epic dungeon with skeletons and a necromancer…
All that is what people want. And blizzard obliges.
We (and others) are just trying to make sense to your request. You form part of the 1% that actually cares about this stuff.
What can I say. If that system is so popular then I guess they would have the millions of players to justify its success right?
It dosent. And one guy in Steam chat said the following :
" eso is kinda following the same trend runescape 3 has. its jus dailies and log out for a lot of ppl. the devs have tried to hard to make the game to be accessible as possible and its ruined it for a lot of ppl. dont get me wrong tho, accessiblity isnt a bad thing. but when its chainging the core mechs of the game then it is bad. plus previous chapters have had horrid update balance aswell. its a long list "
It boils down really well why ESO remains active, but not popular.
If you like it so much, play it. Simple as that. What is the discussion here?
If ESO is REALLY that good. Not only you would play it. Others (myself included) would too.
But here we are… in WoW… WHY?
Pretty much because of this
This is the first time I have seen or heard this quote and I 100% agree with it. I really like ESO, I think its a very good RPG but it’s a very poor MMO. ESO is so accessible that you are barely required to group up with anyone, they even have outdoor dungeons that you can walk into without a party (most of them you can solo) and clear it.
I haven’t played Classic, so maybe I’d agree with you, but I highly doubt it.
But I don’t understand what the issue is, can’t you just play classic and enjoy it? Why does retail and classic have to be the same?
Ah yes the old stats. I got this sword that’s a massive upgrade but it has ap and haste, but no hit, meaning i can’t use it because i won’t be hit capped meaning some of my attacks will miss. Old stats were fun, but it was a hassle and did require a lot more research than new ones to optimise your character. And i don’t mean optimise as in you’ll do ~50 dps more or less, i mean a tank will get one shot by a crit from a boss if he’s not got the proper stat capped.
Leveling in retail is also better imo, while it’s not the best and improvements can definitely be made i think even chromie time is a lot better than old leveling as you do get a choice of a few different experiences rather than doing the same thing for every character. Level 30 characters on Cata, same as you did in retail and then tell me that you think cata leveling is better.
Leveling is not harder, it just takes longer.
I do not think like this, but it’s not ‘just you’ either; there are others who feel similar.
Just be thankful that we can all experience WoW in different ways nowadays.
And this is where I disagree.
If person A likes ‘coffee’ and person B likes ‘tea’, that doesn’t mean both of those people will like whatever concoction you get when you mix those two things together.
They are distinct seperate beverages and shouldn’t be mixed (in general). And I think the same goes for the different WoW versions we have.
