I found quite an "interesting bug"

I was doing the cloak questline on my dh and turns out that if you are a demon hunter and in metamorphosis when the little cinematic after you push back N’zoth attack on the Heart starts you get… Genderswapped.

I Don’t know if it happened to other people but it happened to me, my manly Night Elf demon boi turned into a demon girl for that cinematic.

Not complaining btw, I look quite good as a lady.

I remember that happening with the demonic form in other cases. An example:

There’s a cinematic at the end of earning a cloud serpent where 3 of my characters all appeared as a female b’elf.

Which is odd, because all of them were Alliance…

Cinematics are odd

In before Rompuche makes a topic explaining why this is proof that dh should be deleted.

Thats probably why

Nobody plays male blood elf or night elf therefore nobody would probably have noticed

I mean I am used to being misgendered, my game is in French and we have the tendency to give genders to every words with different spelling which results that in many game where you have the choice of being female or male you are often adressed to with the wrong gender.

That’s because they don’t exist

What’s the bug? The inner demon of all is just a female!

Don’t do that

Cursed knowledge!

I … I … have male night elf demon hunter… cowers

Well that makes two of us.

manly flex

Blood elves are gay no matter what gender.

I play the game in spanish and when a DH is on metamorphosis the tag where you can see the the name, level, race, faction, guild, etc… shows the wrong gender since Legion I believe, it seems like they never properly fixed it.

Example so you can understand (english works differently): A male DH uses metamorphosis, then in the tag instead of ‘Cazador (masculine) de Demonios’ (Demon Hunter) it appears as ‘Cazadora (femenine) de Demonios’ and vice-versa.

So that ‘genderswapping’ through metamorphosis also happens on other parts of the game, but in that cinematic it appears as it also changed the model, which I think I have actually seen at some time…

Yeah it happens to every language where masculine and feminine change how words are spelled, happens all the time in French aswell. Like for example the NPCs Calling you by your race instead of Calling you “goblin” they will either call you “gobelin” which is masculine or “gobeline” which is feminine with little regard to the gender of your character.

Oh, how interesting, goblin is not ‘genderized’ (if that’s the way to say it) in spanish, I should have taken more attention to learning french.

Do you think this might me based on wow being developed as an english game? Because as you point out, that problem is not exclusive to spanish (and yeah, it also happens there very commonly).

Do you think they will ever fix it? Or will they find Spain between México, Cuba and Puerto Rico before that? =P

It’s very much because it is an English game, in English word genders Don’t affect their spelling and they also Don’t have feminin déterminants, “the” is neutral. It’s not just in wow but in many games were you can choose your gender, they Don’t bother making two version of the text depending on the gender because it would make additional work to implement it.
