i mean, ud be surprised how important fighting in the mid can be, and how often people think its irrilevant or useless
unless both teams had flags in flag room, then yeah, u might have a point there
if neither team had flag, fighting for mid is kinda how you control wsg/twin peaks
if both teams have flags its about common sense
and if both teams flag carrier are in their own rooms waiting, yea, kill efc is prio 100% (or protecting your own, if u dunno how to kill efc)
3x Battlemaster here
2x Bloodthirsty
2.2 xp 10v10 ranked
2.8 blitz
I just come to tell you WsG is mostly what Mid makes out of it unless you got an insane rogue and tank.
I imagined Your reason for quitting would be premades or something of the sort of issues with the meta but this … this is just silly.
Youre most likely burned out from playing too much.
I think it is rather they don’t grasp the full picture yet, aka. Dunning-Kruger-Effect
On higher skill levels it is as you wrote. In general, for most BGs the most performant (DMG + Heal → Kills → BG Control) team wins the BG.
Of course, one can’t fully ignore the objectives, but there is this concept of 1600-level players of yelling “GET ORBS” and forgetting to “perform” to control the BG. That makes me sick in Katmogu, where you see these healers running from GY to picking an ORB to get instantly killed, just to spam “GET ORBS” while they wait for rezz In the meanwhile their heal is missing and the whole team gets picked apart, GG
Indeed. Sorry, I should have mentioned that neither team had the flag at that point. I do accept that controlling the mid is very important in capture the flag situations. It’s just so frustrating to spend roughly 10/15 mins in a queue to just get spanked by the opposite team and checking map to see the whole team zerging in the middle…
deephaul, twin, and wsg are 80% of the time decided by teamfights mid, its just about dmg/healing/pressure and who controls the map the most
if mid is controlled, efc SHOULDN’T be able to cross mid easily, which is what happens often
THEN if both flag carriers reach eachother bases, yes, ppl are often wasting time mid isntead of ghosting and going directly to kill efc, or protect their own, i hope over time at high mmr we will see more of this being polished and learned by most players so trhat one day we might have competitive rbg games that can also be spectated, reacted, watched, analyzed, who knows even blizzcon tourneys for all i care
or stream events where we get casters like Snupy to host
would be cool
but yeah, as long as ppl are satisfied with low mmr zugzug, and highmmr BETTER ZUGZUG, ain’t gonna happen most likely, but having rbg solo is a step in the rigth direction, assuming that blizz doesn’t keep dropping the ball and polish the gameplay, class design, and class balance, and maybe finally we move away from what i cosnider total brainrot 3s gameplay that has never been relaly that interesting, i mean, we tried it for more than a decade, it lead nowhere for the most part, specially in more modern wow
Mid control in WSG and Twin peaks matters, yet it is but a means to an end. Mid control allows your fc to cross the map unhindered while the efc has to run through an area full of opponents.
If you kill random opponents midfield while you let the efc run through, that’s a fail.
You are doing it in the first place to stop the efc more easily. If you don’t stop him when you have the opportunity, why are you fighting mid at all?
If the efc is already through and safely in the base and you keep fighting mid or camping their gy, you are an idiot.
You should have stopped the EFC while he was crossing the field, but if you failed to do that, the next best thing to do is go straight to their base in the shortest way possible and kill the efc while ccing his healers and bodyguards.
Alternatively, you can peel your own guy, but most importantly, PTFO!
Mid loses its relevance when both FCs have crossed. Then you are either in the offense or the peel squad and if you are still fighting pointlessly in mid, you’re doing it wrong.
What you often see in random bgs and low ranked blitz is that people continue fighting for mid when it has no relevance whatsoever instead of hunting down the efc or helping their own and it pisses me off.
Tunnelvision bro. People don’t see what happends around them.
They don’t see the flag carrier, they don’t notice the healers, they don’t notice the chat.
A lot of the time they don’t even know how to utilize CC.
I think the biggest problem in wow, and team based games like these, don’t award players enough for doing objectives.
Winning a casual game doesn’t mean anything. (RBG was plagued by gatekeepers and is now dead)
Lets see what would happen if killing an EFC would award 100 conquest points, reducing by 10 for every stack he gets. The moment he picks up the flag, mid would be a wasteland.
easier, max 3 man party, cross faction, and i don’t mean just “group and join” i mean, even as solo, u can be on either side of the map, literally half the q times, and make faction imbalance lowkey disappear.
My friend, what you describe as a problem is not something that bliz could fix because it is simply a behavior issue.
Unfortunately you are surrounded by random players that they may need completely different things.
For example some may want to just go mid and fight for no reason , it is their right , some may have manners and some not , some may be semi-afk doing BGs from work etc.
This is what happens when you are playing with random people. You never know who will be on your side and who on the other one.
What blizzard could and certainly should fix is the premade groups on random BGs.
There should be a solo random BG queue where you enter each BG with 9 or 14 other players that are not in group or even could be shuffled at the beginning ( let’s say 30 ppl are being randomly split onto 2 teams with same healers and as equal ilvl gear as it could be and class distribution as evenly as possible)
That for me would be the fix the random BGs require.
