This is a MMORPG with different classes and roles, with 5 people you can balance your group well.
Not every specc is suited for 1 vs All, a glass-canon-specc like MM hunter would die instantly. What do you do as a healer? only heal yourself and “flag” enemies to get honor for the kills of others? it is much more interesting if you can have different group setups and survive independently of your specc/class because of the support you give and get.
“Is so boring to always have to find a group” - This is an MMORPG, that argument is invalid. Do you say the same about elite quests or world boss quests?
I also hate them. When blizz said they were going to improve wpvp in dragonflight i was thinking back to BFA style but even better. Instead we get FFA zones which are terrible, i dont even bother with them anymore. I want horde v alliance which is what the game is. No wonder they have lost so many players.
The FFA zones are the only way Horde has a chance in WM - every single phase has 30 alliance to 3-4 horde and they swarm every crate, rare and event in miliseconds with 20+ players.
At least in FFA we can kill a few of them that aren’t in the raid.
Love hate relationship for me, I love it. I always have been wanting to smack around my own faction without coughing up money. But DAMN its so cringe how everyone partys up for it like, jeez.
The FFA zones are the only reason PvP quests are enjoyable and completed daily by PvPers. In Legion when we had these quests, they were awful - you showed up and no one was there, you killed NPCs then left. Why? Because most shards are heavily one sided. My own shard for instance has Sylvanas, Ravencrest, Auchindoun and my own server + its connected one, Aggramar and Hellscream.
All of these servers are very Alliance sided, meaning every single time I go anywhere in the world, it is most often the case that I will fight 30v1 or MAYBE 30v2. War Chests during the day? Forget it. 20-50 Alliance will materialise out of thin air to kill any rare, loot any chest and do any event.
The ONE exception to this rule is the FFA area, where I am not 30v1, instead I am fighting groups of 2-5 players, which is much fairer and much more enjoyable and actually doable.
So yeah, no, keep the FFA zones - make more of them and fix the damn shard balancing. I have done Krolkoth on like 9 characters today and on all of them I have seen a grand total of maybe 12 horde to the several hundred Alliance. The only way to kill the boss is to snipe it and hope they are dumb enough to nuke it down while it is grey (which they do 99% of the time, i guess they aren’t used to seeing a grey mob as Alliance so they never even stop to think what it means)
if it was REAL FFA it would be just a chaotic mess
point is ppl form groups, and it becomes, just a 5v5v5v5v5v5v5, which doesn’t sound bad… but then everyone should have a 5man team, because otherwise there is like an unfortunate 20 players just getting absolutely trashed
you cna have only 5man, or only ffa, having mixed is making it bit lame, as normally, someone kills u, u might go and try to get revenge, well, u can’t, he has 3 HEALERS and another dps with him, and yes, ive seen 3 healers on a fury just flexing his status on my face for 10 minutes
bajhera that you?
I didn’t read all the comments, most would be from decent players who like fairity, while the opposing would be the creatures that cant tie their own shoes without help, let alone pvp in open areas.
FFA areas are a breeding ground for these creatures, consider changing something!
