I have a question!

Why birds are everywhere in Zereth Mortis?

Zerith derived from Zenith - the time at which something is most powerful or successful.

Mortis - “of death”

With avian species being amongst the most successful evolutionary lines in almost any biosphere it stands to reason the zone would be filled with “Birds of Death”

If you’re getting annoyed at the birds knocking off your mount, I shall let you into a little secret in how to Git Gud at the game.

  1. Unlock Creation Cypher. It’s like the 3rd one, so it’s pretty easy to do.

  2. Use Pocopoc to activate Echoed Jiro Nascii twice. This will give you 2 buffs lasting 15 mins, which make you less detectable to Mobs.

They’re dotted around the map, so you can always get to one.

I recommend using Handynotes (as you should for all World Content), as they are marked on your Map as Red Dots (you might need to turn this on in the options).

It’s also worth getting the ones marked with a Blue Dot, increase the chance of getting Progenitor Essentia from Chests and stuff.

Do all that, and suddenly Zereth Mortis becomes easy to move around.

Remember, if there is a challenge in a game, there is always a solution to it.

Edit - Some have pointed out that the Colours may vary for some reason. So just check the Tooltip which one is which.

That sounds amazing … yet at no stage did we learn about this. I have seen them but didn’t know what they did.

I do remember at some point during the initial phases they bring you to them.

But the Creation Cypher actually does tell you about it, if you read it. I didn’t of course, I read it on WoWhead

Didn’t know it either. I haven’t used popo to talk to the jiro (yet) Not that i care, i get almost never kicked from my mount.

There’s a lack of other airborne predators which lets them thrive due to the lack of competition.

They’re green on my Handy Notes map

Interesting, I’ve not updated my HNs a while. For me the Green ones are the speed boost.

And Handy Notes doesn’t give me the option at all. I’ll have a proper look later

If you go to your main map, top right hand corner there’s a Chest Icon. The options are in there.

Yes I know and I use it for rares, caches, schematics etc and did use it for lost ovoids, coreless automata achievement … but there isn’t an option for the jiros. Maybe it needs updating. Will investigate.

Because birds aren’t real.

They are spy-drones for the true evil The Jailer hinted to.

The option to see them on the map is located under the Shadowlands plugin for Handy notes, under Zereth Mortis is the option to tick the box for Echoed Jiro
